Huckaby EMS Operations Coord (614) cell OHEMS Office (614) Weekday Business Hours Only Protective Services (614) Hours Daily EMS Radio Home Channel 27 OHEMS1 EMS Radio Channel Reset Press home button for ~3 seconds to return channel to 27 OHEMS1 On-Scene At Event Ambulance Transports In-Service From Event Emergency Immediate Police Response Requested EMS unit should contact 300 via MARCS 27 OHEMS11 and wait for a response Advise 300 EMS < Unit Number > IS OUT AT < Location > EMS personnel shall use the assigned MARCS Zone 27 event channel for on-site event operations MedCare shall follow their standard operating processes for communications regarding ambulance transports to a hospital During patient transport and ~5-10 minutes prior to arrival at the receiving emergency department, when possible, the OHEMS Paramedic shall contact tand provide an EMS patient report and ETA to the receiving emergency department by phone or via the corresponding hospital channel in MARCS Zone 11 (Non OhioHealth EDs), Marcs Zone 29 (OhioHealth EDs), or MARCS Zone 30 (OhioHealth FSEDs) EMS unit should contact 300 via MARCS 27 OHEMS1 and wait for a response Advise 300 EMS < Unit Number > IS IN-SERVICE FROM < Location > and ENROUTE BACK TO GRANT Upon arrival back at Grant, EMS unit should contact 300 via MARCS 27 OHEMS1 and wait for a response Advise 300 EMS < Unit Number > IS BACK AT GRANT If an emergency police response is needed at any time the OHEMS unit is operational, the OHEMS unit should (1) contact 911 or the local police directly for assistance, when possible, (2) seek assistance from on-site police officers, or (3) if needed, contact 300 on MARCS 27 OHEMS1 and advise 300 EMS < Unit Number > IS 10-3 at < Location >, provide details regarding the emergency, and ask for an emergency police response 300 should immediately dispatch the applicable police jurisdiction to scene. 300 should immediately notify their OIC who will notify the Event Medicine Coordinator or EMS Operations Coordinator.

OHEMS event units shall typically operate only in pre-authorized and assigned OHEMS zones and channels, including Zone 27, 28, 29, and 30 for event-related communications. 2. OHEMS event units shall identify during communications using assigned event numbers. A. When on OHEMS channels, the unit may identify as EMS < Unit Number >. B. When on non-ohems channels, the unit shall identify as OhioHealth < Unit number >. 3. OHEMS event units shall not normally operate in any fire, EMS, and law enforcement zones and channels unless explicitly authorized or assigned to do so through event pre-planning, event/incident command, or under direction of the zone/channel communication center or authorized agency representative. 4. OHEMS units may use hospital and ED channels for patient reports, medical control requests, or urgent ED communications according to typical EMS standards of usage.

7 To Change Zone: Click soft button to activate zone option. Use oval navigator button (Click Right and Left) to move forward and backwards through available zones. View display to see the selected zones change as you use the navigator button
8 To Change Channel: Turn channel selector knob to move through channels within the current zone. View display to see the selected channel names as you turn the channel selector.
9 To Return to Home Channel: Push home button for about 1 second to force channel to home channel: 27 OH EMS1 Do not hold push button for 3 seconds or longer. This will force radio into a channel programing mode!
10 EMS Fleet Management MILEAGE Log info into all fields of the Vehicle Mileage Log for all EMS vehicle trips off the hospital campus. FUEL MAINTENANCE VEHICLE LOGS Log info into all fields of the Vehicle Fuel Log for vehicle fueling. Obtain a paper receipt for each vehicle fueling and place into the EMS vehicle Fleet Management Binder Log info into all fields of the Vehicle Maintenance Log for all CPU routine maintenance, service checks, repairs, and problems. Obtain a paper receipt for each service item and place into CPU Fleet Management Binder Begin a new log set on the 1 st duty day of each month and submit previous month s log set and receipts to coordinator.
