15 2. EGNOS Performance (30 sept. 2010, Toulouse) With around 1 m (blue line), the measured Horizontal Precision Error for the centre of Europe is consistently better than the requirements. 17 2. EGNOS Services EGNOS will deliver its services on a long-term basis (>20 years). Conclusions on EGNOS EGNOS Advantages : An affordable solution for in real-time measurements (free signal, low-cost receivers) Contrary to standalone GPS receivers, EGNOS provides good stability over time with an homogeneous error Alerts against unhealthy GPS satellites Possibility to receive EGNOS corrections through terrestrial network (EDAS) when the GEO sats are not in view. => More info + helpdesk : 11/10/2010 GPS Workshop 2010 Montpellier 20

22 3. What s next for EGNOS? Release 2.3 (summer 2011): extension of the coverage (east, south, north of Europe) thanks to a new algorithm and to 3 new RIMS. 32 Conclusions EGNOS has entered its operational phase EGNOS open service since Oct 2009 and ready to be used! EGNOS open service provides an affordable solution for in real-time measurements with a good stability overtime.
