1 OptiSheath Advantage Sealed Terminal Solution for WDM Applications, UCA4-XX The OptiSheath Advantage Sealed Terminal for WDM Applications, UCA4 enables operators to maximize the potential of their existing fiber plant by deploying wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) devices in the outside plant environment. This innovative, fully sealed terminal is an ideal solution for fiber-to-the-business, deep-fiber and wireless backhaul applications. The OptiSheath Advantage Sealed Terminal uses preterminated WDM devices and drop cables, which eliminate the cost and complexity of fusion splicing individual multiplexer/demultiplexer (mux/demux) devices in the field. This unique, connectorized design not only saves operators time and money during first installation and supports scalable growth, but it also provides easy-access test points for network monitoring and troubleshooting. A pivoting frame allows for mounting of up to two cassettes in the lower plane, while providing an excellent fiber management on the upper plane for the input/output pigtails. Each terminal is scalable to the appropriate channel demand/take rate. 3 WDM Devices for OptiSheath Advantage Sealed Terminal CWDM Multiplexers and Demultiplexers utilize advanced thin-film filter technology designed for use with less expensive, non-temperature-controlled lasers. They are available in various channel counts at industrystandard 20 nm spacing. CWDM devices may also include a 1310 nm mux/demux in order to integrate video, data and voice services. CWDM devices are qualified for indoor and outdoor use and have a wide variety of packaging options. The OptiFit Advantage Drop Cable Extension Assembly is specifically designed to significantly reduce required drop cable installation time for subscriber connection, therefore reducing the total installed cost of connectorization. It also provides superior durability and reliability in the drop segment of the network.
