1 2. Bref descrpton 2443 The HR92 radator controller s certfed by eu.bac.. Scope of delvery HR92 Wreless Radator Controller The radator controller packagng contans: 2 HR92 s an electronc radator controller wth a modern desgn. Because of the wreless communcaton wth a frequency of 868 MHz the controller can be easly ntegrated n heatng systems such as evohome to control the room temperature. User-frendly Large adjustable dsplay wth backlght. Dsplay of nformaton n the dsplay usng symbols and text. Parameters can be set ndvdually. Manual temperature modfcaton (effectve untl the next swtchng pont) possble at any tme. Mountng The radator controller fts on the most common radator valves of the type M3x.5. Further adapters are avalable as accessores. An external wndow contact can be connected optonally. Energy savng features Wth the wndow functon, the radator valve s closed when ventlatng the room. If an external wndow contact s used, the radator valve s closed when a wndow s open. 3 4 CAUTION ffuse the radator controller only n accordance wth these operatng nstructons. ffdo not let chldren play wth the radator controller. Always change batteres n pars. If the batteres are too weak, the radator controller opens the radator valve completely. After the batteres have been replaced, the rado connecton to the central operatng devce s restored automatcally. Batteres have to be replaced soon Flashng dsplay: Batteres are dead and have to be replaced 2
3 WARNING The language selecton s only dsplayed durng ntal commssonng. The battery lfe of new alkalne cells amounts to approx. 2 years. The batteres need changng when the symbol flashes. Frst the software verson number and then the language englsh s dsplayed. 8. If desred, use the adjustment dal to select a dfferent language. 9. Confrm the selected language wth the button Establshng rado connecton The radator controller HR92 communcates wth the central operatng devce by rado usng the frequency of 868 MHz. To ths purpose the connecton between the HR92 and the central operatng devce has to be establshed frst. Ths process s called BINDING. In the case of preconfgured devces bndng has already been carred out n the factory. If bndng has not yet been carred out, unbound s dsplayed after has been pressed. Bndng must frst be actvated at the HR92 so that the rado sgnal can be receved. Subsequently bndng has to be actvated at the central operatng devce. Please read the operatng nstructons of your central operatng devce for further nformaton about bndng. Actvatng bndng at the HR92 Carry out bndng of the radator controller near the fnal mountng locaton.. Press the button brefly. unbound s dsplayed. 2. When sync s shown n the dsplay, the radator controller s synchronzng wth the central operatng devce. HR92 receves the data from the central operatng devce. Synchronzaton can take up to 4 mnutes untl the current room setpont temperature s dsplayed at the HR92. If BINDING s not successful, t s termnated automatcally after approx. mnutes. or To cancel BINDING, select Ext usng the adjustment dal and confrm wth the button. If several HR92 radator controllers n one room (zone) are to be controlled by the central operatng devce, t s possble to actvate BINDING at all radator controllers smultaneously. BINDING then only has to be carred out once. Faled bndng/nsuffcent data transfer Bndng has faled when the rado symbol dsappears and faled s dsplayed. The data transfer output may be nsuffcent. Ths can be caused by metallc objects or further rado devces. fensure f that the dstance to rado devces such as rado headphones, cordless phone, etc. amounts to at least m. fensure f that the dstance to metallc objects s suffcent. fif f rado nterference cannot be elmnated, select a dfferent mountng locaton for the room unt and repeat bndng. Connectng an external wndow contact The floatng external wndow contacts HCA3 can be connected to the HR92 radator controller. The cable ACS9 s requred to connect the external wndow contact. Mcro B mn-plug / open ends 2 m long Not ncluded n the scope of delvery Operaton wth wndow contact When the wndow s opened, the wndow contact s opened and the radator valve closes. When the wndow s closed agan, the radator controller returns to normal operaton. The frost-protecton functon ensures that the radator valve opens when the temperature drops below 5 C. If a cabled wndow contact s removed, Parameter has to be modfed to or, see Secton 5. Cable connecton fconnect f cable ACS9 as follows to the wndow contact HCA3: ACS9 whte black GND green Connectng the cable to the radator controller HR Remove the sde cover from the radator controller. 2. 9 Descrpton of the parameters Parameter 2 Backlght The dsplay has a backlght for readng the nformaton. The backlght s ON when the adjustment dal s turned or a button s pressed. The backlght swtches OFF f no acton s carred out at the radator controller for approx. 7 seconds n order to save battery power. Parameters 3 to 5 Wndow functon In order to save energy the radator controller closes the radator valve when you open a wndow resultng n a large drop of the temperature. When you close the wndow so that the temperature rses the radator controller opens the radator valve agan. When the duraton of the wndow functon (factory settng: 3 mnutes) has expred, the system controls to the current room setpont temperature agan. Frost protecton s ensured durng the wndow functon. Parameter 6 Valve stroke The radator controller operates wth the optmum valve stroke set n the factory. If the entre valve stroke s to be used or f the valve does not open completely, actvate the full-stroke mode. Parameter 7 Temperature representaton n the dsplay In the factory settng the room setpont temperature s dsplayed. Wth the settng "measured temperature" the measured room temperature s dsplayed. A changeover to the set temperature s carred out by turnng the adjustment dal or pressng the button. If requred, the temperature can now be reset. The dsplay returns to the measured temperature after approx. 3 seconds. Due to the heat nfluence of the radator the "measured temperature" dsplayed at the radator controller can dffer from the temperature measured at another pont n the room. Parameter 8 Temperature offset Snce the radator controller measures the room temperature n the area of the radator, t s possble that ths temperature devates from the temperature measured at a dfferent pont n the room. If, for example, 2 C s measured n the room and 2. C at the radator, ths effect can be compensated by an offset of. C. Parameter Dsplay of the valve poston When ths parameter s actvated (settng ""), the calculated valve poston ( % opened) s dsplayed momentarly. The man dsplay s shown agan after approx. 3 mnutes. To cancel, select ext and press the button. Parameter Wndow open functon If a wndow contact s connected, the parameter s set automatcally to "2" (cabled). The wndow functon s controlled by the wndow contact. If no wndow contact s connected, the settng "" or "" has to be selected. 6. Further functons Manual changng of the room setpont temperature The room setpont temperature can be changed at any tme by means of the adjustment dal. The changed room setpont temperature remans n effect untl the next swtchng pont. The symbol shows that the temperature was changed manually. The symbol extngushes when the next setpont s reached. By turnng the adjustment dal ant-clockwse untl off s dsplayed, the valve wll be closed permanently. Wth ths settng the tme program of the central operatng devce s no longer actve for ths radator controller, but frost protecton s guaranteed f the heatng s swtched on. 9

When the temperature rses agan, but at the latest after the set perod (factory settng: 3 mnutes), the radator controller opens the radator valve agan. You can also open the radator valve beforehand by turnng the adjustment dal. The senstvty of the radator controller to a temperature drop or temperature rse can be set, see Secton 5, Parameters 3 to 5. If a wndow contact s connected, the wndow functon reacts drectly to the openng and closng of the wndow, see Parameter.
