1 Description: Hymax Optoelectronics Inc SFF GPON ONU HYG-F CX The transceiver is the high performance module for low cost point to multi point (P2MP) Fiber to Home, Business or Curb (FTTx) systems. The transmitter section uses a 1310nm DFB laser, supporting burst-mode operation. The receiver section uses a 1490nm continuous mode receiver at rate 2.5Gbps with APD. 9 Block Diagram 2 10 SFF GPON ONU with DDMI Power Supply The transceiver includes internal circuit components to filter power supply noise. Under the conditions of EMI and power supply noise, external power supply filtering may be necessary. If receiver sensitivity is found to be degraded by power supply noise, the filter network illustrated in the following figure may be used to improve performance. The values of the filter components are general recommendations and may be changed to suit a particular system environment. Shielded inductors are recommended. 9 of 11

10 Recommended Application Circuits Outline Specification The form factor is 2 10 SFF with pigtail fiber. The pigtail fiber has a 30mm minimum bending radius, and the type can be SC/APC, SC/UPC or FC/UPC. 10 of 11
