1 May 1, 2012 PCM MIDMARK ECG ACQUISITION MODULE As of PCM to be used with Midmark Controls.msi This interface supports the following 3 products: Midmark IQMark digital ECG Midmark IQMark digital Spirometer Midmark IQMark digital Holter Midmark Controls.msi set up must be installed prior to using The interface can be used on PCM full networked client or PCM TS Client Note: As of PCM Ver this is also supported while using RDP (Remote Desktop Connection) on the server as it may be useful for opening raw Holter files from the server for review. It may be highly unlikely that ECG machine is hooked up to a USB on the server; this was mainly done for the ability to open the module for Holter viewing on the server As of PCM Ver a calibration utility for Spirometry was added, the button is just below the Spirometer button Page 1 of 17

2 I. Using Midmark ECG Interface: Midmark Interface for ECG, Spirometer and Holter can be launched from the desktop using the PCM Midmark shortcut or from the PCM patient panel when a chart is open. If you do not see a PCM Midmark shortcut Programs Menu you can create one from the Start, All 1. Click on the PCM Midmark shortcut from your desktop or while logged in to PCM with a chart open by clicking on the Midmark Ecg button, if you are launching from within PCM, skip to step Click Log on on the Midmark ECG Acquisition Module splash screen. 3. Select All Users or Doctors and log in using PCM user s password. Page 2 of 17

3 4. Click on Find Patient and choose a patient 5. Launching Midmark module from the patient Panel 6. After finding the correct patient; Patient s vitals, race, technician, requesting physician, medications or the history/indications may be entered. 7. 9 Holter Data Review II. Important Information 1. Auto hide your task bar to allow full ECG Screen; on your desktop; rt. click on your task bar, select properties, check Auto-hide the task bar other wise some buttons at the bottom of the screen will be hidden while the report screen is open in full screen mode. 2. All generated reports will be sent to the patient s chart. A chart tab will be created for the corresponding report; ECG MM, HOLTER or SPIRO MM 3. Document names will be ECG, Holter and Spiro Page 9 of 17

10 4. These reports will be sent to the responsible provider s mailbox upon being generated 5. Signing- Since these reports are not text or scan type documents, they are considered electronically signed at the time the signor (responsible provider removes from mailbox). If an actual signature is required; the report must be printed, signed and scanned back in, then faxed. 6. Convert to Tif option- Use the right click Convert to Tif option to create a tif copy of the holter, ecg, or spiro reports. 7. Note on Printing- These will only print to the computer's default printer, cannot set this to print to the document printer. Also due to this limitation from Midmark, you cannot or fax these reports as this will cause errors and will have to print to paper instead. 8. Printing Holters, please note that these files may be up to 23 pages long. To edit the setting for printing the reports, click on the Holter button, then Settings and check off the Report option you like, if all options are checked the reports will be long and printing may take a while. 12 III. HOLTER- EDITING OF RAW DATA As of PCM version the Holter Report s signer can edit or re-analyze a previously saved raw ECG file. 1. The signer selects the Holter report from the chart 2. Clicks the Midmark ECG icon Page 12 of 17

13 3. This message will come up, click OK to open the selected file for editing or cancel to start a new file. 4. If there is a stored raw.ecg file in the chart, you will see the data being loaded; otherwise you will get a message indicating the raw data is not available. Page 13 of 17

16 Note on file sizes: the storage of raw.ecg files had not been done before because these files are large, i.e. 24 hour reports can be 30 MB in size for example, and stored as zip files around 8 MB Page 16 of 17

17 Note for TS Client users: After making changes, there will be a relatively long wait while transferring the raw file back to the server if the user is in a remote location with poor internet upload speed, the speed will be faster if this is done locally and not TS Client. Note that during the process of transfer unfortunately there is not an easy way to show the progress; therefore the user has to be patient for the Analyzer screen to close. Page 17 of 17
