1 Cardinal Newman: Senior Yearbook Information Hello and welcome to your Sons/Daughters Senior year. My name is Carl Hamilton and I am the Faculty Yearbook advisor. I know how chaotic it can get with the many deadlines that our Seniors have regrading college applications, graduation things and etc... The following information will hopefully simplify for you the necessary guidelines and deadlines regarding several items for our yearbook. A: Formal Senior Portraits B: Senior Ad deadlines, costs, requirements and forms. C: Senior Casual Portraits D: Relationship Photos E: Sibling Photos Please look over the information and feel free to contact me at yearbook@cardinalnewman.org if you have any questions. Also pay attention especially to deadlines for all sections. The yearbook is an enormous project that has several hard deadlines for the many sections and it is important that we meet all these. 2 A: Formal Senior Portraits-Final Deadline September 8th This is the Classic professional presentation with black tuxedo or drape. We have contracted with Bella Photography and Design of Santa Rosa. All Formal Senior Portraits MUST go to Bella for these photos. There is a nominal 10$ charge for these. Bella will provide a formal tuxedo shirt, tie and jacket for Men. A black drape will be provided for the Women. You must contact Bella for an appointment and further guidelines. 3 B: Senior Ad Deadlines, Specs and Contacts ( Form Attached ) Senior Ad Guidelines Important Instructions for Formatting and Submitting your Senior Ad Senior Ads will not be accepted past the final deadline. There is no guarantee that Ads will be placed in any particular order. THE FOLLOWING ITEMS ARE DUE ALL AT ONE TIME and must be submitted to the CN Library: 1. Senior Ad Form With a check made out to Cardinal Newman or Credit Card Info. 2. CD with Senior Ad in jpeg form only 3. A color print out of the Senior Ad

4 Specifications: Full Page Dimensions: (9.2X12) Half Page Dimensions: (9.2X6) Quarter Page Dimensions: (4.5X6) Try to avoid small pictures on the border to reduce risk of pictures being cut off and use good judgment in quality and taste of photos to avoid editing or re-dos. Files need to be in JPEG Form, RGB color, 300ppi resolution Senior Ad Due Dates 1. How to Create your Senior AD To avoid problems and ensure a high quality senior ad, many families choose to employ the services of a professional designer. The following list provides you with a few suggestions, but you are welcome to choose your own vendor: Rory McNamara: mcnamara@cardinalnewman.org Jim Rael: jimraelphotos@gmail.com get-in-the-action-photography.com Creating your own well-done ad is possible with the correct software and enough time. However, if you create your own and are unsure of it meeting specifications, do not wait for the final deadline, as time to fix the ad will not be available. We suggest that you look through last year s yearbook to get a feel for the types of layouts that appeal to you.

Only Seniors and only Single photos allowed. Family / Sibling Photos These are for only Siblings attending Cardinal Newman now. No past or future siblings. Relationship Photos These are for groups of Seniors only.
