The housing of the fixture need not be opened to install. The slipfitter (A) fits over the round or square pole or tenon and secures with a welded-on interior stop and two stainless steel set bolts. The fixture has a tail-piece (B), bolted on by Bieber, that accepts the rectangular arm of the hanger (C). Two stainless steel set bolts are tightened on the tail-piece arm, wires are made up under the removable cap (D) and the installation is complete. A provided removable pole cap gives easy access to wires. The fixture tailpiece slips over the 4' rectangular arm and is secured by two 1/2" stainless steel set bolts. See also page 3, bottom right. Bieber. Electronic controls enable raising and lowering of these motorized poles with the flip of a switch even from a remote location. The standard telescoping pole shown here measures 20' tall in the "up" position and 12' tall in the "down" position. Please consult our factory for more information. 11 For all of these layouts, the luminaire reflector is the exclusive Bieber tennis reflector, the source is Metal Halide, and the hanger arm (usually 4' long) is at a 3º upward tilt. The point spacings are a 10' by 10' grid, and illuminance values are obtained with industry-standard computer modeling. Illuminance values are initial footcandles at grade (LLF = 1.000). Custom photometrics: Photometrics for other tennis layouts, as well as for indoor tennis facilities and for sports facilities like roller hockey, basketball, small soccer fields, paddle tennis, etc., are available from Bieber; please consult factory Note on wing fences: A short fence running between the long sides of courts in a multiplecourt layout is known as a wing fence. With a wing fence present, it is permissible to place poles between the two courts, as in Layouts #1 and #3; see the photo on the front cover and the photo on page 7, top. When no wing fence is present, it is permissible to place poles between the two courts only at the net line, as in Layouts #6 and #7, and as in the photo on the back cover ' Note on Special Layout Example #5: This layout represents the special circumstance in which no poles are permitted or desired between the two courts. In this case, good light levels may be achieved by using the high-wattage, multi-lamped Bieber NST52 or NST53 fixture. Please note that these fixtures will yield even better illuminance when poles are placed down the middle.
