1 Welcome to Progress Lighting s Virtual Lighting CD Virtual Lighting lets you visualize any Progress fixture in your own room! Please use this guide to help you get the most out of your Virtual Lighting experience. Make sure that you have installed Virtual Lighting CD on your computer, it is simple and easy to install. Double click on the set-up icon from the CD and follow the instructions. Getting Started From your desktop Double click on the Virtual Lighting Icon to begin. The Progress Virtual Lighting main screen will open. Loading Background Image 1 2 Click on Load Background A dialog box will appear displaying a directory of background images that comes with the Virtual Lighting CD package. Choose dining_transitional (circled below in red) and click Open. Virtual Lighting Main Screen Load Background Detail Load Background Actual Screen 3 If you choose to load your own image simply browse from the same dialog box to locate your digital image or scan. Follow these helpful guidelines below for your loading your own background image: 1. Make sure image is a jpeg file format 2. Image size should be

3 Fixture Selection screen Selecting Fixtures 6 From the left hand side of screen select desired fixture by clicking on image of fixture. Selected fixture will have a marquee around it. Note that Progress model number is displayed when you have selected a fixture. 7 Placing Fixtures Select the Move tool from the top menu bar. Click and Hold the mouse button on the desired fixture, drag the fixture to the room scene. Note that the tool you have selected will appear depressed on the top menu bar Adjusting Fixture Size 8 To adjust the size of the fixture to a particular room scene, select the Size tool from the top menu bar. Click and Hold the mouse button on the fixture in the room scene, drag the mouse in (towards the center of the fixture) to make the fixture smaller. Drag the mouse out (away from the fixture) to enlarge the image.

4 Moving a Fixture 9 To move the fixture to a desired area in a room scene, select the Move tool and simply Click and Hold the mouse button and drag the fixture. 10 Flipping a Fixture Certain fixtures like sconces can be mounted in a up, down, left or right position. To view a fixture this way select the flip tool from the top menu, then click once on the fixture image in the room scene to flip it horizontally, click again to on the image again to flip the image vertically. 5 Swap a Fixture 11 Select the swap button from the top menu. Click on a fixture that you wish to swap with from the left hand side menu. Click back on the fixture that is in the room scene. The fixture will be swapped with the new fixture you selected. Save Image 12 When you have finished creating your Virtual Room, select the Save tool from the top menu bar. A dialog box will appear. Enter a file name and save to a directory of your choice. Print Page 13 Printing your room scene is easy and can be customized. You can edit the text below your image by highlighting and entering information in the message area. (circled at the right in red) Click on the Print button at the bottom of the screen.

6 14 From the Print screen you can also your room scene. Use the fill-in boxes on the right hand side of the screen. Enter the name of the recipient, the recipients address, subject, message (note that Virtual Lighting automatically adds the fixture information for you) CC, sender address and your mail server. (Check with your ISP or Network Administrator for your Mail Server). Erasing 15 Virtual Lighting offers a unique and easy to use Erase tool. The Erase tool allows you to remove fixtures from a room scene by painting over them with part of an area from the room. Select the Erase tool from the top menu bar. Choose an Eraser from the palette on the left hand side of the screen. The boxes and circles are varied in size. This gives you the option to remove the fixture with a quick swipe with the large square/circle or with detailed precision with the smaller tools. Load your own room scene and practice using the Erase tool to remove fixtures already existing in your Virtual Room.

7 Erasing 15a After you have chosen your Eraser Click, Hold and drag the eraser to a part of the wall that is blank. Right click when you are on the part of the wall that you wish to use (this selects the background that will replace the fixture) Left Click, Hold and move the eraser over the area you wish to cover up. Use different sizes of Erasers to edit you room scene easily. Undo 15b You can easily Undo what you have erased by selecting the undo button at the bottom of the Eraser palette. (circled at the bottom in red) Choose an Eraser. Click and Hold the Undo Eraser over the area that you wish to fix or undo. This will remove anything you have done to the picture.
