You can look at the paintings & photographs in either landscape or portrait mode to get the best viewing. There is a nice mix of paintings and photographs in both black & white and color. The only slight inconvenience is that the descriptions do not accompany the pictures. Instead, you must refer to the table of contents to get a description of a particular picture. Otherwise, it makes for very enjoyable viewing. I got this book after visiting Yellowstone for the first time. It's a great book to have and when I would see the Yellowstone images, I immediately recognized them. Seeing images from other parks makes me want to visit them eventually too. What I liked about the book is the narrative that goes along with the images. Great images!wish there were more photos of Rocky Mountain National Park.Wish there were stories of the artists featured. While this book is filled with lovely illustrations, My iphone kindle edition has zero text with the images. I can't imagine the authors did not provide image ids. Its good, I got it for my kindle fire hd, I just feel it lacks a bit resolution to zoom in and really appreciate the quality of those great paintings and pictures.
