4 Gregory Rubin Reynolds Gregory is remembered for his sharp wit, intellect, and the adventuresome taste which fueled his lifelong passion for collecting. He loved New England country furniture, folk art, and jewelry, whether it was diamonds or Bakelite! His taste was impeccable and his style eclectic. His contemporary home in Peacham, Vermont, was a showcase for each carefully selected piece. He demonstrated that antiques can be strikingly beautiful contrasted in a modern environment. Gregory s legacy is his generosity to friends and to the Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital. NVRH will receive the proceeds from the auction of his collection, and the sale of his home.

Note: Henry Bellinger is portrayed holding a copy of the Chittenango Herald, and dated October 31, The newspaper is also inscribed Henry Ehle was born April 15, The background to the left is likely depicting the biblical story of Samson fighting the lion, and to the right a representation of the Chittenango Falls in the village where the couple lived. Henry s wife Anna is shown seated in a paintdecorated chair holding a red book, and wearing a fancy lace bonnet and gold jewelry, with a billowing tasseled curtain and a column behind her. A genealogy of the couple, compiled in 1980 in Chittenango, New York, accompanies the portraits. Provenance: Formerly in the early 1950s collection at Gnarlehedge House in Skaneateles, New York, a historical house built in 1810, originally occupied by the Livingston family, which after a time was a restaurant/museum called Gnarlehedge House in the early 1950s, now privately owned. The reserve is a confidential minimum price agreed upon by the consignor and Skinner, Inc. below which the lot will not be sold. In most cases, the reserve will be set below the estimated range, but in no case will it exceed the estimates listed. A representative of Skinner, Inc. will execute such reserves by bidding for the consignor. In any event and whether or not a lot is subject to a reserve, the auctioneer may reject any bid or raise not commensurate with the value of such lot. 2. (a) Skinner Inc., may impose, and the purchaser agrees to pay, a monthly storage charge of 1.5% of the purchase price of any lot or portion of a lot not removed within the three days, and/or (b) Skinner Inc. may place the merchandise in a subsequent auction, without Reserve, to be sold to the highest bidder, and after deducting the standard commission and any additional charges that may apply, remit the proceeds to the purchaser. 5. Skinner accepts cash or check for payment. Personal checks will be acceptable only if credit has been established with Skinner, Inc. or if a bank authorization has been received guaranteeing a personal check.
