3 Visit the Art Institute of Chicago. CPS students are free so make sure you bring your ID. You must locate works of art from each of the following regions, Americas, Europe/Russia, Middle East, Africa, South East Asian Countries that demonstrate one of the Elements of Art. You will pick 5 different Elements to represent: Line, Value, Shape, Form, Space, Texture, Color. Once you leave, you will need to look up what was happening in history, in that region, when the artwork was created. TAKE A SELFIE SHOWING THE TICKET AND DATE. TO RECEIVE CREDIT: YOU WILL NEED TO TAKE A PHOTO OF YOU AND THE ARTWORK YOU ARE DISCUSSING AND PUT THEM INTO A GOOGLE DOC THAT YOU WILL SHARE WITH ME. Include Artwork,,, and location. Element Write the element shown in the artwork. Do not repeat elements. Work of Art Info Historical Importance: What was happening in this place, in history, when this work of art was created. Describe how the artist used the element in the artwork.

TO RECEIVE CREDIT: YOU WILL NEED TO TAKE A PHOTO OF YOU AND THE ARTWORK YOU ARE DISCUSSING AND PUT THEM INTO A GOOGLE DOC THAT YOU WILL SHARE WITH ME. Include Artwork,,, and location. 5 Putting it all together: 1. When you return from school, you will turn in the packet. 2. You will also turn-in/ share a google doc that has the photos, with you, with,, date, and location of artwork for each artwork 3. Take a selfie with your ticket showing the date to include in your google doc. Tips: 1. Take a photo of the artwork. 2. Take a photos of the description of the artwork (usually on a little card next to the painting) 3. Go with others so they can take your photo in front of the artwork. 4. You are not limited to paintings, look at sculptures, architecture, etc. 5. DO THE DEFINITIONS BEFOREHAND SO YOU KNOW WHAT TO LOOK FOR IN THE ARTWORK. 6. Send me a message if you are not sure what to do. 7. Sign-up for Remind, visit my website (iteachyoustuff.com), and look online for tips. 8. Ask for help from people working at the museum I will be at the museum on Thursday, July 10:30 AM & Monday, August 10:30 AM If you would like to visit with me, please send me a message so I know to look out for you. I can help you complete the project on these two days at the museum. You do not have to go on these days, but I will be there to assist.
