INRODUCION General informaion hank you for purchasing his uni. he uni is he indoor par of he air o waer ERSQ or ERRQ hea pump. he uni is designed for floor sanding indoor insallaion and used for heaing applicaions. he uni can be combined wih space heaing radiaors (field supply) and wih an EKHS* domesic ho waer ank (opion). A remoe conroller wih room hermosa funcionaliy is sandard supplied wih his uni o conrol your insallaion. CAREFULLY READ HIS OPERAION MANUAL BEFORE USING HE UNI. I WILL ELL YOU HOW O USE HE UNI PROPERLY AND HELP YOU IF ANY ROUBLE OCCURS. AFER READING HE MANUAL, FILE I AWAY FOR FUURE REFERENCE. his uni conains elecrical and ho pars. Before operaing he uni, make sure he insallaion has been carried ou correcly by a professional dealer. If you feel unsure abou operaion, conac your dealer for advice and informaion. An EKHBRD indoor uni can only be conneced o an ERSQ or ERRQ oudoor uni. Refer o he insallaion manual for he lis of opions. Scope of his manual his manual describes how o sar up and swich off he uni, se parameers and configure he schedule imer by means of he conroller, mainain he uni and solve operaional problems. Domesic waer heaing operaion he remoe conroller room hermosa funcion is no insalled You have "leaving waer emperaure based" conrol of your sysem he remoe conroller offers full conrol over your insallaion. I can conrol all heaing applicaions which vary in capaciy, elecrical supply and insalled equipmen (opions). Operaing he EKHBRD uni comes down o operaing he remoe conroller. I is advised o use he remoe conroller, which includes room hermosa funcion, delivered wih he uni. his will preven excessive space heaing and will sop he oudoor and indoor uni when he room emperaure is above he hermosa se poin. Based on he reques from he user here is an immediae feedback o he compressor conrol which opimizes he performance. Refer o he ypical applicaion examples in he indoor insallaion manual for more deails. Never le he remoe conroller ge we. his may cause an elecric shock or fire. Never press he buons of he remoe conroller wih a hard, poined objec. his may damage he remoe conroller. Never inspec or service he remoe conroller yourself, ask a qualified service person o do his. Do no rinse he indoor uni. his may cause elecric shock or fire. Do no climb, si or sand on op of he uni. Do no place any objecs or equipmen on he uni op plae. 4 Remoe conroller buons and icons 1. ON/OFF BUON he ON/OFF buon sars or sops he space heaing. Pressing he ON/OFF buon consecuively oo many imes may cause malfuncion of he sysem (maximum 20 imes per hour). 2. OPERAION LED he operaion LED is li during space heaing operaion. he LED blinks if a malfuncion occurs. When he LED is OFF, space heaing is inacive while he oher operaion modes can sill be acive. 3. OPERAION MODE ICONS,, hese icons indicae he curren operaion mode(s): space heaing ( ), domesic waer heaing ( ) or quie mode ( ). Wihin limis, differen modes can be combined, e.g. space heaing and domesic waer heaing. he corresponding mode icons will be displayed simulaneously. If he domesic ho waer ank is no insalled, he icon will never be displayed. 4. EXERNAL CONROL ICON his icon indicaes ha he oudoor uni is working in a forced operaion. As long as his icon is displayed, he remoe conroller canno be operaed. 5. DAY OF HE WEEK INDICAOR his indicaor shows he curren day of he week. When reading or programming he schedule imer, he indicaor shows he se day. 6. CLOCK DISPLAY he clock display shows he curren ime. When reading or programming he schedule imer, he clock display shows he acion ime. 7. SCHEDULE IMER ICON his icon indicaes ha he schedule imer is enabled. 8. ACION ICONS hese icons indicae he programming acions for each day of he schedule imer. 9. OFF ICON his icon indicaes ha he OFF acion is seleced when programming he schedule imer. 10. INSPECION REQUIRED and Remark ha pushing he buon has no influence on he domesic waer heaing. Domesic waer heaing is only swiched on or off by means of he buon and/or disabling he sorage schedule imer. hese icons indicae ha inspecion is required on he insallaion. Consul your dealer EMPERAURE DISPLAY he display shows he curren emperaure of he insallaion eiher leaving waer emperaure or acual room emperaure. When changing he room emperaure se poin, he se poin will be flashing for 5 seconds and hen reurn o he acual room emperaure. 12. SEING No used. For insallaion purposes only. 13. NO AVAILABLE his icon is displayed whenever a non-insalled opion is addressed or a funcion is no available. A funcion no available can mean insufficien permission level or can mean ha a slave remoe conroller is used (see insallaion manual). 14. DEFROS/SAR UP MODE ICON his icon indicaes ha he defros/sar up mode is acive. 15. COMPRESSOR ICON his icon indicaes ha he compressor in he oudoor uni of he insallaion is acive. 16. 5 24. DOMESIC WAER HEAING BUON his buon enables or disables he differen domesic ho waer modes in combinaion wih he schedule imer buon. his buon is no used when he domesic ho waer ank is no insalled. Remark ha pushing he buon has no influence on he domesic waer heaing. Domesic waer heaing is only swiched on or off by means of he buon and/or disabling he sorage schedule imer. 25. WEAHER DEPENDEN SE POIN BUON his buon enables or disables he weaher dependen se poin funcion which is available in space heaing operaion. If he conroller is se o permission level 3 (refer o "Field seings" in he insallaion manual), he weaher dependen se poin buon will no be operable. 26. INSPECION/ES OPERAION BUON his buon is used for insallaion purposes and changing field seings. Refer o "Field seings" on page PROGRAMMING BUON his muli-purpose buon is used o program he conroller. he funcion of he buon depends on he acual saus of he conroller or on previous acions carried ou by he operaor. 28. SCHEDULE IMER BUON / he main funcion of his muli-purpose buon is o enable/disable he schedule imer. he buon is also used o se he clock and o program he conroller. he funcion of he buon depends on he acual saus of he conroller or on previous acions carried ou by he operaor. 29. IME ADJUS BUONS and hese muli-purpose buons are used o adjus he clock, o oggle beween emperaures (waer inle/oule emperaure of he indoor uni, oudoor ambien emperaure, acual room emperaure and domesic ho waer emperaure) and in schedule imer programming mode. 30. LEAVING WAER EMPERAURE ADJUS BUONS and hese buons are used o adjus he leaving waer emperaure se poin in normal operaion mode or in schedule imer programming mode. If he conroller is se o permission level 3 (refer o "Field seings" in he insallaion manual), he leaving waer emperaure adjus buon will no be operable. In case he weaher dependen se poin operaion is seleced, he uni has a floaing se poin. In his case, he icon as well as he shif value (in case no zero) will display. 31. ROOM EMPERAURE ADJUS BUONS and hese muli-purpose buons are used o adjus he curren room emperaure se poin in normal operaion mode or in schedule imer programming mode. When changing he room emperaure se poin, he se poin value on he display will be flashing. Afer 5 seconds he display will show o he acual room emperaure. 32. QUIE MODE BUON his buon enables or disables quie mode. If he conroller is se o permission level 2 or 3 (refer o "Field seings" in he insallaion manual), he quie mode buon will no be operable. 33. he buon has no funcion. Seing he clock Afer iniial insallaion, he user can se he clock and day of he week. he remoe conroller is equipped wih a schedule imer ha enables he user o schedule operaions. Seing he clock and day of he week is required o be able o use he schedule imer. 1 Hold down he buon for 5 seconds. he clock read-ou and he day of week indicaor sar flashing. 2 Use he and buons o adjus he clock. Each ime he or buon is pressed, he ime will increase/decrease by 1 minue. Keeping he or buon pressed will increase/decrease he ime by 10 minues. 3 Use he or buon o adjus he day of he week. Each ime he or buon is pressed he nex or previous day is displayed. 4 Press he buon o confirm he curren se ime and day of he week. o leave his procedure wihou saving, press he buon. If no buon is pressed for 5 minues he clock and day of he week will reurn o heir previous seing. he clock needs o be se manually. Adjus he seing when swiching from summerime o winerime and vice versa. If he conroller is se o permission level 2 or 3 (refer o "Field seings" in he insallaion manual), seing he clock will no be possible. A power failure exceeding 1 hour will rese he clock and he day of he week. he schedule imer will coninue operaion, bu wih a disordered clock. herefor i will be needed o correc he clock and he day of he week. 4

6 Space heaing operaion ( ) Space heaing operaion can be conrolled on wo differen ways: - based on room emperaure, - based on leaving waer emperaure. he purpose of each operaion and how he configuraion is done, is explained below. Room emperaure conrol In his mode, heaing will be acivaed as required by he room emperaure se poin. he se poin can be se manually or hrough he schedule imer. When using room emperaure conrol, space heaing operaion based on room emperaure will have prioriy over leaving waer conrol. Noe ha i is possible ha he leaving waer emperaure becomes higher han he se poin if he uni is conrolled by room emperaure. Selecing space heaing operaion 1 Use he buon o swich ON/OFF space heaing ( ). Icon appears on he display as well as he corresponding acual room emperaure se poin. he operaion LED lighs up. 2 Use he and buons o se he desired room emperaure. emperaure range for heaing: 16 C~32 C (room emperaure) In order o avoid overheaing, space heaing is no operable when he oudoor ambien emperaure rises above a cerain emperaure (see operaion range). Refer o "Programming and consuling he schedule imer" on page 12 for seup of he schedule imer funcion. 3 Use he and buons o selec he leaving waer emperaure which you wan o be used o hea up your sysem (for deailed informaion see "Leaving waer emperaure conrol" on page 5). Auomaic seback funcion Seback funcion provides he possibiliy o lower he room emperaure. he seback funcion can for insance be acivaed during he nigh because he emperaure demands during nigh and day are no he same. Remark ha he icon will be flashing during seback operaion. By defaul he seback funcion is enabled. he seback funcion can be combined wih he auomaic weaher dependen se poin operaion. Seback funcion is an auomaic daily scheduled funcion. he seback funcion is configured hrough field seings. Refer o he chaper "Field seings" on page 16 for a deailed descripion how o se one or more field seings. I is possible ha he room emperaure can no be reached (or i will ake a much longer ime) because of he big emperaure difference. Leaving waer emperaure conrol In his mode, heaing will be acivaed as required by he waer emperaure se poin. he se poin can be se manually, hrough he schedule imer or weaher dependen (auomaic). Selecing space heaing operaion 1 Use he buon o swich ON/OFF space heaing ( ). Icon appears on he display as well as he corresponding waer emperaure se poin. he operaion LED lighs up. 2 Use he and buons o se he desired leaving waer emperaure. emperaure range for heaing: 25 C~80 C (leaving waer emperaure) In order o avoid overheaing, space heaing is no operable when he oudoor ambien emperaure rises above a cerain emperaure (see operaion range). Refer o "Remoe conroller schedule imer" for seup of he schedule imer funcion. When an exernal room hermosa is insalled, he hermo ON/OFF is deermined by he exernal room hermosa. he remoe conroller is han operaed in he leaving conrol mode and is no funcioning as a room hermosa. he remoe conroller ON/OFF saus always has prioriy over he exernal room hermosa! 5

7 Selecing weaher dependen se poin operaion When weaher dependen operaion is acive, he leaving waer emperaure is deermined auomaically depending on he oudoor emperaure: colder oudoor emperaures will resul in warmer waer and vice versa. he uni has a floaing se poin. Acivaing his operaion will resul in a lower power consumpion han use wih a manually fixed leaving waer se poin. During weaher dependen operaion, he user has he possibiliy o shif up or down he arge waer emperaure by a maximum of 5 C. his shif value is he emperaure difference beween he emperaure se poin calculaed by he conroller and he real se poin. E.g. a posiive shif value means ha he real emperaure se poin will be higher han he calculaed se poin. I is advised o use he weaher dependen se poin because i adjuss he waer emperaure o he acual needs for space heaing. I will preven he uni from swiching oo much beween hermo ON operaion and hermo OFF operaion when using he remoe conroller room hermosa or exernal room hermosa. During his operaion, insead of showing he waer emperaure se poin, he conroller shows he shif value which can be se by he user. 1 Press he buon 1 ime o selec weaher dependen se poin operaion (or 2 imes when he remoe conroller room hermosa funcion is used). Icon appears on he display as well as he shif value. he shif value is no shown in case i is 0. 2 Use he and buons o se he shif value. Range for he shif value: 5 C o +5 C Icon will be displayed as long as he weaher dependen se poin operaion is enabled. 3 Press he buon o deacivae weaher dependen se poin operaion. he and buons are used o se he leaving waer emperaure. Field seings define he parameers for he weaher dependen operaion of he uni. Refer o he chaper "Field seings" on page 16 for a deailed descripion how o se one or more field seings. [3-03] Se poin a high ambien emperaure (Hi_i): he arge ougoing waer emperaure when he oudoor emperaure equals or rises above he high ambien emperaure (Hi_A). Noe ha he Hi_i value should be lower han Lo_i, as for warmer oudoor emperaures (i.e. Hi_A) less warm waer suffices. If by misake he value of [3-03] is se higher han he value of [3-02], he value of [3-03] will always be used. Auomaic seback funcion Seback funcion provides he possibiliy o lower he room emperaure. he seback funcion can for insance be acivaed during he nigh because he emperaure demands during nigh and day are no he same. Remark ha he icon will be flashing during seback operaion. By defaul he seback funcion is enabled. he seback funcion can be combined wih he auomaic weaher dependen se poin operaion. 8 Domesic waer heaing operaion ( ) Any domesic waer heaing operaion is impossible when he domesic ho waer ank is no insalled. For he domesic waer heaing mode, several operaions are possible: sorage operaion (eiher auomaic or manually se) rehea operaion disinfecion operaion he purpose of each operaion, and how he configuraion is done, is explained below. During operaion of his mode, he icon will be blinking wih 1 second inervals. Auomaic sorage is he recommended domesic ho waer mode. In his mode, waer heas up during he nigh (when space heaing requiremens are lower) unil he sorage emperaure se poin is reached. he heaed waer is sored in he domesic ho waer ank a a higher emperaure so i can fulfil he domesic ho waer requiremens hroughou he day. Remark ha he icon will only be blinking during effecive auomaic sorage operaion. Presence of he permanenly li icon does no mean ha auomaic sorage is enabled, bu only means ha rehea is enabled. During operaion i is always possible o cancel he operaion by pushing he buon once. Be aware ha afer pushing he buon, i is possible ha he permanenly li icon sill displays. he sorage emperaure se poin and he iming are field seings. Refer o he chaper "Field seings" on page 16 for a deailed descripion how o se one or more field seings. [1-00] Saus: defines wheher he domesic waer heaing (sorage mode) during nigh is enabled (1) or no (0). [1-01] Sar ime: ime of he nigh a which he domesic waer should be heaed. [1-02] Saus: defines wheher he domesic waer heaing (sorage mode) during dayime is enabled (1) or no (0). [1-03] Sar ime: ime of he day a which he domesic waer should be heaed. Be aware ha despie he auomaic sorage is a pre-programmed schedule imer, i is only acive when he schedule imer is enabled. his means ha you have o push he buon and confirm ha he is displayed o make sure ha he auomaic sorage will operae. [b-03] se poin: sorage emperaure (see figure "Domesic waer heaing modes" on page 7) only valid if [b-02]=0. [b-02] Saus: defines wheher he weaher dependen domesic waer heaing is urned ON (1) or OFF (0). If enabled, he sorage se poin will be se weaher dependen. In case of a higher ambien emperaure (e.g. during summerime), emperaure of supply waer o he domesic ho waer ank will be higher oo, so ha sorage emperaure se poin can be se lower in order o keep he overall equivalen ho waer amoun he same during he whole year. herefor i is recommended o use his funcion. [b-04] 55 C 15 C 25 C A A Ambien emperaure Domesic ho waer sorage emperaure he ambien emperaures for weaher dependen domesic waer heaing (see figure) are fixed and can no be changed. 7

9 Manual sorage If weaher dependen domesic waer heaing is enabled [b-02], he sorage emperaure will be se auomaically and he field seing [b-03] will be of no imporance. Make sure he domesic ho waer is only heaed up o he domesic ho waer emperaure you require. Sar wih a low domesic ho waer sorage emperaure se poin, and only increase if you feel ha he domesic ho waer supply emperaure is no sufficien for your needs (his depends on your waer using paern). Make sure he domesic ho waer is no heaed unnecessary. Sar wih acivaing auomaic sorage during nigh (defaul seing). If i seems ha he domesic ho waer nigh sorage operaion is no sufficien for your needs, an addiional sorage during dayime can be se. Nex o he sandard domesic waer heaing operaion modes, i is also possible o freely program he domesic waer heaing operaion hrough he schedule imer (refer o "Programming quie mode or domesic waer heaing" on page 14). hen he mode is swiched on or off a a scheduled ime. Five acions can be programmed per mode. hese acions are repeaed daily (addiional schedule of sorage on op of he auomaic day and nigh sorage funcionaliy).
