1 BEN DARBY AUSPISCIOUS ARTIST IN ATTENDANCE : MAY 7, 6-8 PM EXHIBITION : MAY , 2015
2 Ben Darby Auspicious Ben Darby is a child at heart; his work is full of playful references and intellectual metaphors. All jokes aside, the complexities of his craft astound. Ben has developed a distinct aesthetic through layering paint with hand-crafted molds of acrylic reliefs that create interest and depth in his work. His use of detailed motifs mingles alongside washes of color and acrylic molds of godzilla, china dolls & toys. Darby is a West Coast artist with an art degree from Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle. His work has exhibited and been collected for residential, corporate and public collections. He currently resides in Southern California where he derives inspiration in the surrounding nature and his family s home environment. As a father, Ben is excited to see the simplicity of life play out in his son s eyes.
