Swirl seams to make 2-1/2 x 2-1/2 four-patch units. x 8 Make (4) 2/1/8 sashing strips using (4) Color 2 & 8 1-1/2 x 2-1/2 rectangles and (4) Color 1 squares. Press seams away from Color 1 to make 1-1/2 x 5-1/2 sashing strips. Make (1) 1/2/1 sashing strips using (2) Color 1 1-1/2 x 2-1/2 rectangles and (1) Color 2 square. Press seams away from Color 2 to make 1-1/2 x 5-1/2 sashing strip. Stitch (4) Color 1/6/6/7 four-patch units to remaining (4) Color 2 1-1/2 x 2-1/2 rectangles to make (4) Subunit A units. Press seams toward Color 2. Stitch (4) Color 6/7/7/3 four-patch units to remaining (4) Color 8 1-1/2 x 2-1/2 rectangles to make (4) Subunit B units. Press seams toward Color 8. Stitch (2) Color 2/6/6/7 four-patch units to remaining (2) Color 1 1-1/2 x 2-1/2 rectangles, making note of the orientation to make (2) Subunit C units. Press seams toward Color 1. Color Swatch SKU Cutting Cut (2) 1-3/4 x 21 strips. Using quarter square side of ruler, cut (16) 2-1/2 finished QSTs. (Alternatively, cut (1) 3-3/4 x 21 strip. Subcut (4) 3-3/4 squares; cut in half along both diagonals for (16) QSTs.) Cut (1) 3 x 21 strip. Subcut (4) 3 x 3 squares. Cut (2) 3 x 21 strips. Using half square side of ruler, cut (16) 2-1/2 finished HSTs. (Alternatively, cut (2) 3-3/8 x 21 strips. Subcut (8) 3-3/8 squares; cut in half along one diagonal for (16) HSTs.) Stitch (2) Color 1 QST units to opposite sides of Color 5 square, centering QSTs along the side of the square. Press toward Color 1. Stitch (2) Color 1 QST units to remaining opposite sides of Color 5 square, centering QSTs along the side of the square. Press seams toward Color 1 to make 4 square. Make 4 units. Repeat steps with Color 9 HSTs. Press seams toward Color 9 to make (4) 5-1/2 x 5-1/2 blocks. 7

Using half square side of ruler, cut (16) 1-1/2 finished HSTs. (Alternatively, cut (2) 2-3/8 x 21 strips. Subcut (8) 2-3/8 squares; cut in half along one diagonal for (16) HSTs.) Stitch (2) Color 2 QST units to opposite sides of Color 7 square, centering QSTs along the side of the square. Press toward Color 2. Stitch (2) Color 2 QST units to remaining opposite sides of Color 7 square, centering QSTs along the side of the square. Press seams toward Color 2 to make 2-1/2 x 2-1/2 square. Make 4 units. 10 Jungle Gym Quilt Assembly Finished: 21 x 21, Unfinished 21-1/2 x 21-1/2 Assemble Five Patch Chain A, Stripe A, Economy Block Large, Stripe A, and Five Patch Chain A into a row. Make 2 rows, noting orientation of Five Patch Chain A blocks. Press X 2 seams toward Stripe A blocks. Assemble Stripe A, Economy Block Small, Stripe B, Economy Block Small, and Stripe A into a row. Make 2 rows. Press seams toward Stripe X 2 blocks. Assemble Economy Block Large, Stripe B, Five Patch Chain B, Stripe B, and Economy Block Large into a row. Make 1 row. Press seams toward Stripe B blocks. X 1 Assemble quilt top, noting orientation of rows containing Five Patch Chain A. Make 27 x 27 backing. Layer quilt top, batting, and backing using your favorite method and quilt as desired. I used Aurifil Cotton Mako 28 wt., Colors 5003, 2120 and 2625 to form a plaid design. Quilting lines were marked using ¼ wide masking tape. Assemble binding and bind quilt using your favorite method. 9
