Place the lace and velvet with right sides tgether and stea irn. This will leave the print f the lace n the velvet. Practice this prcedure n a velvet scrap befre trying it n yur expsive velvet. PETTCOAT CONSTRUCTON:. Sew frnt t back at the side seas and the cter back sea leaving the tp 3 2" p. 2. Sew the three tulle petticat ruffle sectins tgether at the shrt ds aking a circle easuring apprx. 722". Fld 5S" satin ribbn in haff lgthwise and sew t btt f ruffle. 3. Sew tw rws f gathering stitches acrss the tp and pull up gathers t fit the skirt btt. Pin and sew ruffle t skirt. Set aside. DRESS CONSTRUCTON: 4. Sew frnt and back ykes tgether at the shulder seas. Repeat fr lining. 5. Sew the yke lining t the yke at the neck sea and dwn the cter backs. Clip neck sea abut every 4" turn and finger press seas. 6. Make taffeta piping and sew acrss lwer edge f frnt yke and lining using a 4" sea allwance. See Diagra Fr Piping. 7. Sew the skirt tgether at the side seas and cter back sea. S. Place the petticat skirt inside the dress skirt. Staystitch the tw skirts tgether at the tp edge. The skirt and petticat will nw be treated as ne fabric. 9. Sew tw rws f gathering stitches arund the skirt tp edge. Pull up gathers t fit the yke frnt and backs. Pin and sew skirt t ykes. Set aside. 0. Sew tw rws f gathering stitches at the tp and btt f each sleeve. See Pattern Fr Placet.. Pull up gathers n the lwer sleeve t fit the sleeve band. Pin and sew sleeve band t sleeve. Prepare bth sleeves. 2.Pull up gathers n the sleeve caps t fit the arscye cnctrating the gathers abut 2" n each side f the cter ntch. Pin and set sleeves. 3. Sew the sleeve ar sea and the petticat side dart. Abut " f the dress skirt sea will be included in the side dart. 4. Th lift up the petticat and finish sewing the dress skirt side seas starting up behind the side darts. 5. Turn under the sleeve band reaining 4" sea allwance and whip stitch t the sleevelsleeve band sea. Prepare bth sleeves. 6. Turn under skirt he S" th turn under again 4" and achine stitch he in place. 7.Sew tw snaps n the yke backs. DETACHABLE COLLAR: 8. Using the 34 yds. f 3 34" nat lace sew six rws f gathering stitches accrding t the pattern teplate. 9. Pull up gathers as fllws: Tp Rw - - Lgth 5" Middle Rw - - Lgth 2" Btt Rw - - Lgth 26 4" 20. Hand stitch a he n each d f the cllar. See Pattern. 2.Sewa sall snap n the cllar fr clsure. PANTES CONSTRUCTON: (Leg Elastic 6") (Waist Elastic ") 22. Sew the cter frnt sea and the cter back sea. 23.Zigzag 34" nat lace t each leg edge. 24.Zigzag S" elastic t each leg. See Pattern Fr Placet. 25. Sew the leg inseas catching the elastic ds in the seas. 26. Turn under and sew the waist casing leaving an ping t insert elastic. nsert S" elastic and verlap the ds ne n tp f the ther.
