From the nursery to the dorm room, cherish the precious princess in every girl! Floriani Products Precious Moments A Time to Play design set Dream Weave Ultra (11 square) No Show Nylon Mesh fusible Perfect Stick Stabilizer Other Supplies 12 square pillow form White linen, 1/3 yard Pink linen, 1/8 yard Ruffle trim, 1 1/2 yards Hot fix crystals & heat tool Threads (see design thread chart) Step 2 - Prepare to Embroider Fuse a 11 square of Dream Weave Ultra to the back of the white linen square. Fuse one 11 square of No Show Nylon Mesh to the back of the white linen. Fuse a second 11 square of No Show Nylon Mesh over the first at a 45 angle. (This provides extra stability and support for the large stitch count of this design.) Step 1 - Prepare Fabric Prewash, press (spray starch recommended) and cut the following pieces of fabric: One 11 square of white linen Two 12 1/2 x 8 pieces of white linen for the back (If possible, have one 12 1/2 side of each piece be the selvedge/finished edge of the fabric.) Four 14 x 2 strips of pink linen 2

Position the template (created in the software lesson) in the center of the fabric with the square

Use a ruler or cutting mat to draw perpendicular lines on the center of the embroidery area.

Align the template lines with the drawn lines on the stabilizer.

Step 3 - Embroider the Design Load the design created in the software lesson into the embroidery

3 Position the template (created in the software lesson) in the center of the fabric with the square on point. Hoop a piece of Perfect Stick in the extra-large hoop. Score the paper and remove. Use a ruler or cutting mat to draw perpendicular lines on the center of the embroidery area. Position the linen fabric, template side up, onto the hooped stabilizer. Align the template lines with the drawn lines on the stabilizer. Finger press to secure the fabric to the Perfect Stick. Step 3 - Embroider the Design Load the design created in the software lesson into the embroidery machine. Position the needle over the crosshairs of the template. Note if your machine has the Snowman embroidery positioning marker feature, simply position the snowman over the crosshairs of the printed template. 3

Gently remove the printed template from the fabric. Cover the design area with a piece of Water Soluble Topper.

Step 4 - Assemble the Pillow Use straight pins to mark the centers of two opposite sides of the pillow.

Fold two of the pink borders in half to determine the center.

The borders will extend beyond the edge of the pillow top by a couple of inches on each side as shown.

4 Gently remove the printed template from the fabric. Cover the design area with a piece of Water Soluble Topper. The corners of the topper can be easily stuck to the exposed Perfect Stick stabilizer. Step 4 - Assemble the Pillow Use straight pins to mark the centers of two opposite sides of the pillow. Stitch the entire design, changing thread colors as required. Fold two of the pink borders in half to determine the center. Pin each border to the pillow top, raw edges together, from the center out. The borders will extend beyond the edge of the pillow top by a couple of inches on each side as shown. Remove the hoop from the machine. Place a damp wash cloth over the back side of the design area for a few moments to activate the water soluble portion of the Perfect Stick stabilizer. Gently lift the design from the hoop. Trim the linen square to 10 1/2", removing the excess No Show Nylon Mesh extending beyond the edges of the square. 4

Use a straight stitch to sew the borders in place with a 1/4 seam allowance.

Press the borders back over the seam allowance. Mark the remaining two sides of the pillow top with a pin at the center.

To create the mitered corners of the borders, fold the pillow in half diagonally.

Use a ruler to draw the seam line (shown in black) as an extension of the fold of the pillow.

Repeat the process of pinning the border to the pillow top, matching the centers.

5 Use a straight stitch to sew the borders in place with a 1/4 seam allowance. DO NOT stitch the last 1/4" on each side of the pillow top (indicated by green line). Backstitch to secure. Press the borders back over the seam allowance. Mark the remaining two sides of the pillow top with a pin at the center. Press the remaining borders back over the seam allowance of the pillow top as shown. To create the mitered corners of the borders, fold the pillow in half diagonally. Pin the border extensions together matching raw edges. Use a ruler to draw the seam line (shown in black) as an extension of the fold of the pillow. Note, the seam allowance will be folded toward the pillow top temporarily to mark the stitching. Repeat the process of pinning the border to the pillow top, matching the centers. Again, the borders will extend beyond the edge of the pillow top and should at least cover the previously stitched borders. Stitch the borders in place, but ONLY stitch to the pillow top. DO NOT stitch over the borders attached previously. Back stitch each end to secure. The corners of the borders will not be attached to each other. Stitch the corners of the border together with a 1/4 seam allowance. Trim excess border as shown by red line. Clip to seam as indicated by green arrow. 5

Press the corner seams open and press the finished pillow top. Step 6 Finishing Touches Turn pillow right side out. Insert a purchased 12 square pillow form into the opening in the back.

If there are no selvedge edges, finish one 12 1/2 side of each piece by folding under 1/4" and topstitching in place.

6 Press the corner seams open and press the finished pillow top. Step 6 Finishing Touches Turn pillow right side out. Insert a purchased 12 square pillow form into the opening in the back. Accent the crown, sceptor and brooch with hot fix crystals per the manufacturer s instructions. If there are no selvedge edges, finish one 12 1/2 side of each piece by folding under 1/4" and topstitching in place. Overlap the selvedge/finished edges of the two back pieces to make a square 12 1/2" wide. Baste each side of the overlap as illustrated by the dashed line. Pin the trim to the front side of the pillow, matching the inside edge of the trim to the raw edge of the pillow top. Baste in place, if desired. With right sides together, pin the pillow back to the pillow top matching corners. Stitch around the pillow using a 1/4 seam allowance. Note the seam allowance may be a bit wider to encase the edge of the trim. Trim corners diagonally. 6
