2 Copyright 2011 DCollinsworth 2 Rabbit In A Pumpkin Patch Toy Crochet Pattern Materials: 1 skein ea color Red Heart Super Saver 4 ply yarn in Pumpkin and White 1-2 oz Red Heart Yarn in Green Stuffing Craft glue Sewing needle Sewing thread Needle to take yarn 3 size 4 large snaps 50 of 1-4 wide green ribbon 10 of 1-4 wide pink ribbon 3 size 7\8 yellow buttons One 1\4 pink pom-pom Small amounts of pink, white, brown and blue felt Size H crochet hook Gauge: 4 hdc = 1, 2 rows hdc = 1 Finished Size: about 16 when in the pumpkin and 22 pulled out Five Sided Block For Pumpkin: With Pumpkin yarn and H hook ch-4, sl st to form a ring. RND 1: Ch-1, (2 hdc, ch-2) 5 times in ring, sl st top beg hdc, ch-1, turn. (10 sts) RND 2-5: Hdc ea st around and work (hdc, ch-2, hdc) in ea ch-2 sp, sl st top beg hdc, ch-1, turn. End rnd 5 fasten off. (20 sts)(30 sts)(40 sts)(50 sts) -Make 9. Leg Opening Block: RND 1: With Pumpkin and H hook ch-41, sl st to form a ring, ch-1, turn, (hdc next 8 ch, ch-2) 5 times, sl st top beg hdc, ch-1, turn. (40 sts) RND 2: Hdc ea st around and work (hdc, ch-2, hdc) in ea ch-2 sp, sl st top beg hdc, fasten off. -Make 2. Head Opening Block: RND 1: With Pumpkin and H hook ch-51, sl st to form a ring, ch-1, turn, (hdc next 10 ch, ch-2) 5 times, sl st top beg hdc, fasten off. (50 sts)

3 Copyright 2011 DCollinsworth 3 Putting The Pumpkin Together: With needle and yarn sew the 9 blocks, 2 leg-opening blocks and Head opening block tog to form a ball, see photo. Top Left Leg Opening Block Top Right Head Opening Block Bottom Five Sided Block Line up 1 Five Sided Block, 1 Leg Opening Black, 1 Five Sized Block, 1 Leg Opening Block and 1 Five Sided Block. Sew them together to form a curved line. Line up 5 of the Five Sides Blocks. Sew them together to form a curved line. Line up the 2 curved sections as illustrated. This is how they will be sewn together.

Fold in half and sew the short ends together to form a ball without a top or bottom. How the ball or pumpkin looks sewn together. Sew the last block (Head Opening Block) to the pumpkin on one end. In this photo you are looking from the open (the pumpkin s bottom) part of the pumpkin inside it to the Head Opening. You will sew the last Five Sided Block here.

With needle and yarn sew bottom of neck (unstuffed portion of head) to center of holder-insert. With needle and yarn sew one sole to bottom ea leg. Stuff leg about 1\2 up and sew across at this point. With needle and White yarn make sections in the ends of ea foot for toes. Leg Holder-Insert: With White and H hook rep rnd 1-4 of Head Holder-Insert. RND 5-13: Hdc ea st around, sl st top beg hdc, ch-1, turn. End rnd 13 fasten off. -Make 2. Sew ea-finished leg (unstuffed portion) to center of holder-insert. Sew outer edges of head-insert around head opening. Sew outer edges of leg-insert into one leg opening. Carefully stuffed the pumpkin just enough for it to hold its shape, but still allow the head and legs to be pushed back in. Sew in last leg. Rabbit s Tail: With White and H hook ch-3, sl st to form a ring. RND 1: Ch-1, work 12 hdc in ring, sl st top beg hdc, turn. (12 sts) RND 2: (Ch-12, sl st next st) around, turn. RND 3: Press lps to back of work, (2 hdc next st, hdc next st) around, sl st top beg hdc, turn. (18 sts) RND 4: Rep rnd 2. RND 5: Press lps to back of work, 2 sc ea st around, sl st top beg sc, fasten off. With needle and yarn sew tail to back of pumpkin. Hand: RND 1: With White and H hook ch-8, hdc 3rd ch from hook, hdc next 4 ch, 3 hdc last ch, turn piece so you are now working across the bottom of the foundation ch (in bottom of sts just made), hdc next 4, 2 hdc last, sl st top beg hdc, ch-1, turn. (14 sts) RND 2-8: Hdc ea st around, sl st top beg hdc, ch-1, turn. End rnd 8 fasten off. -Make 2. Stuff ea hand 2\3 s of the way full. Lay opening flat and sew closed. With needle and yarn make finger sections in ea hand like you do for toes in ea foot. Sew finished hand to ea side of pumpkin. Top Of Pumpkin OR Rabbit s Hat: With Pumpkin and H hook rep rnd 1-2 of Pumpkin Block. Fasten off.

Roll stem up tightly and with needle and matching yarn sew closed. Sew stem to center top of hat. Ear: ROW 1: With 2 strands of White and H hook ch-3, hdc 3rd ch from hook, ch-1, turn. (1 st) ROW 2: 3 hdc only st, ch-1, turn. (3 sts) ROW 3-5: Hdc ea st across, ch-1, turn. ROW 6: Sk 1st st, hdc dec last 2 sts, ch-1, turn. (1 st) ROW 7: Hdc only st, fasten off. -Make 2. With needle and yarn sew ea ear to back of Bunny s head. Using the patterns as a guide, cut out pieces from felt and glue to bunny s face. If this is for a young child, sew ea piece of felt to the bunny s face. Glue or sew pom-pom to center front of bunny s face bet the two muzzles. Leaf: ROW 1: With Green and H hook ch-2, sc 2nd ch from hook, ch-1, turn. (1 st) ROW 2: 2 sc only st, ch-1, turn. (2 sts) ROW 3: 2 sc ea st across, ch-1, turn. Sew other snap to rabbit s hand. Cut a 10 piece of ribbon. Sew one end to the carrot and the other end to rabbit s hand.
