Different spools accept dyes and fade differently creating the light and dark striations of the same colored dye. This is Not correctable and will NOT worsen with submerging. It is recognized as a truly unique hand woven rug because of this imperfection. Often times this is sought after by buyers wanting true hand knotted oriental rugs. 5

True Oriental Hand-Knotted rugs are never perfectly symmetrical. This is a highly sought after trait, making the piece more unique. Asymmetrical rugs have a much higher price point. Hand-knotted rugs are Asymmetrical based on the weaver s imperfections. Perfectly symmetrical rugs are machine made or woven and still have high price points. 6

Often overlooked until cleaned when the knots become bright white again. NEVER cut a white knot, it will create a hole in the foundation. Color correction is the cheapest repair but is not permanent. Replying wool around the know is permanent but quite expensive. Padding is suggested to slow the fiber s pile wear. 10

Pre-existing bleeding can be corrected at an additional cost. Bleeding is caused when fugitive dyes (dyes that haven t been removed after post construction cleaning) are allowed to run once exposed to moisture. We can chemically remove the fugitive dyes and prevent the dyes from locking onto fibers. Hourly rates are available for correcting pre-existing dye migration 11

Set expectations: Alkalinity can cause dye migration. Acidity can damage natural fibers. We will do everything in our power to correct the issues, but some things are NOT correctable. 12

FADING There are many different types of fading Bleach Fade We are equipped to color correct fading caused by bleach. It is an additional hourly cost and the customer will be contacted if interested.

Keep the curtains drawn during peak hours. Chemical Fading Caused by off gasing. Suggestions: Rotate rug intermittently. Move furniture around periodically. 13

Dry Rot is not correctable at any of our facilities. It is highly recommended that dry rot be repaired by a licensed professional before the cleaning can take place. If you are not sure if you are seeing dry rot call your rug center manager immediately. 14
