2 Fabric Requirements: Fabric Color White Layer Cakes Green #1 Green #2 Total Yardage 2½ yards Layer Cakes or 10" precut squares Batting 60" x 60" Backing Cutting Directions: Fabric Color Shape & Number White White Layer Cake 9 Layer Cake 5 Layer Cake yards Number of Shapes to Cut Cut 5 5" x width of fabric (WOF) strips. Fanfold into 5½" widths. Sub cut into 64 rectangles. Cut 5 3¾" x WOF strips. Fanfold into 3" widths. Sub cut into 128 2" finished half square triangles (HSTs). Choose 16 layer cakes and cut 2 5" x 10" rectangles on lengthwise grain from each layer cake. Layer up to 6 layers of fabric right side down on die and cut 32 chisels. Rotate fabric stack on die (keep fabric right side down) to cut 32 chisels from remaining 5" x 10" rectangles. Cut a total of 64 chisels. Use the remaining 16 5" x 10" layer cake strip pieces from above to cut 2" finished HSTs from each of the 16 colors. Cut a total of 64 2" finished HSTs. Use a variety of 10" squares from layer cake and cut 16 2" finished squares for flower center. Cut 1 5" x 20" strip. Fanfold into 5" widths. Sub cut into 4 4" finished squares for border cornerstones. Total Fabric Required Additional Cutting Instructions: White Yardage included above o Use GO! Strip Cutter-4½" (4" Finished) (55054) to cut 4 4½" x WOF strips for outer border. Green #2 Yardage included above o Use GO! Strip Cutter-2" (1½" Finished) (55025) to cut 4 2" x WOF strips for inner border. o Use GO! Strip Cutter-2½" (2" Finished) (55017 or 55014) to cut 7 2½" x WOF strips for binding. Additional Fabrics Needed: Batting: 60" x 60" Backing: 3 yards cut into 2 54" pieces. Sew back together along the 54" length. Sewing Directions: Press all seams open and use ¼ seams, unless otherwise indicated. 1. Sew one layer cake fabric and one white 2" finished half square triangle (HST) (Shape 5) on either side of the green #1 quarter square triangle (QST) (Shape 4) to form a flying geese unit as shown. Be sure the layer cake fabric is on the right short side of the QST. Press seams toward the HSTs. Make 64 flying geese units measuring 2½" x 4½". Page 3 of 6

2. Sew one white rectangle (Shape 8) to long green edge of flying geese unit from Step 1.

Sew one white 2" finished HST (Shape 5) onto one layer cake fabric chisel (Shape 9) as shown.

". 4. Lay out two units from Step 2 and one chisel as shown keeping flower petal colors together.

Make 16 pairs. 5. Lay out two matching chisel units and one 2½" square as shown and sew together.

Sew one white 2" finished HST (Shape 5) onto one layer cake fabric chisel (Shape 9) as shown. Press seams towards chisel. Make 64 chisel units measuring 2½" x 4½". 4. Lay out two units from Step 2 and one chisel as shown keeping flower petal colors together. Sew together pressing towards the chisel. Unit will measure 4½" x 10½". Make 2 of each colorway. Make 16 pairs. 5. Lay out two matching chisel units and one 2½" square as shown and sew together. Press seams toward chisel. Unit will measure 2½" x 10½". Make 16 pairs. 6. Lay out two matching units from Step 4 and Step 5 as shown. Sew together. Press seams open. Block will measure 10½" x 10½". Make 16 blocks. Page 4 of 6

Assemble the Quilt Top 1. Lay out blocks in 4 rows of 4 blocks as shown. Sew the horizontal rows together first. Press rows 1 and 3 to the right and rows 2 and 4 to the left.

Measure again and add green #2 inner border to top and bottom. Press to inner border. 3.

5 Assemble the Quilt Top 1. Lay out blocks in 4 rows of 4 blocks as shown. Sew the horizontal rows together first. Press rows 1 and 3 to the right and rows 2 and 4 to the left. The rows will then nest perfectly when sewn together. 2. Measure quilt top and add the green #2 inner border to right and left side first. Measure again and add green #2 inner border to top and bottom. Press to inner border. 3. Measure the quilt center in 3 places and then take the average measurement and cut 4 strips that length from the 4½" outer border pieces. Sew two of them to opposite sides of the quilt top. Press to the outer border. 4. Sew the green #2 fabric 4" finished HSTs (Shape 1) to each end of the remaining two white 4½" border strips from Step 3. Press to white border. Sew to remaining opposite sides of quilt top. Press to the outer border. Page 5 of 6

6 Quilting and Finishing 1. Layer batting between quilt top and backing. 2. Pin or baste layers together. 3. Quilt as desired. 4. Add binding, mitering corners. Page 6 of 6
