1 STEP 1: Back to your Revit fi le _ from the Project Browser double-click on Level 1 _ type shortcut WA (wall) _ set the type of wall to Storefront _ draw a curtain wall on the South Wall as shown in image 1 _ (note: type shortcut TL to set the viewport to display all thin lines) STEP 2: draw another curtain wall on the South Wall as shown in image 2 _ align the outside edge of the curtain wall with the outside edge of the column Draw Storefront 3 STEP 3: go to the 3D View _ change the curtain wall grids = 4 vertical _ 1 horizontal STEP 4: from the Ribbon under Insert click on Load Family _ from the Doors folder select Store Front Dbl _ click Open 1 Align save the Revit fi le in your Class-04 folder as: your initials-class-04.rvt Draw Storefront 2 4 1

2 Draw Mirror Axis STEP 5: select the curtain panel as shown in image 5 _ click on the pin to Un-Pin the element STEP 6: from the Properties panel _ change the element type to: Store Front Double Door STEP 7: go to Level 1 _ select the 2 south curtain walls _ using the midpoint of the building mirror them to the north side STEP 8: go to the 3D View _ orbit around to the north side _ select the left side curtain wall _ from the ribbon click on the Edit Profile button _ draw two new lines as shown in image 8 5 Select Curtain Panel 7 Draw two lines 6 8 2

3 STEP 9: stretch the vertical & horizontal existing lines back to form a closed shape as shown in image 9 _ click on the green check mark from the ribbon to fi nish STEP 10: repeat step 9 for the right side north STEP 11: go to Level 1 _ type shortcut WA (wall) _ change the wall type to a Generic 6 _ change the Unconnected Height = 12 _ change the location Line = Finish Face: Exterior STEP 12: draw two walls to complete the north elevation 9 11 Draw two walls

4 Draw South Clearstory STEP 13: go to the 3D View _ verify the north walls are drawn correctly STEP 14: orbit around to the south side _ next we need to draw the 3 Clearstory Walls STEP 15: go to T/Ext Wall _ draw the south clearstory curtain wall with an Unconnected Height = 10 as shown in image 15 north walls STEP 16: go to the 3D View _ select the new curtain wall _ set the Base Offset = 1-0 _ set the Unconnected Height = 9-0 _ set the Vertical Grid Pattern = 8 _ set the Horizontal Grid count = 1 3 clearstory walls

5 STEP 17: go to T/Ext Wall _ draw the west clearstory curtain wall with an Unconnected Height = 10 as shown in image 17 Draw West Storefront STEP 18: go to the 3D View _ select the new curtain wall _ from the ribbon click on the Edit Profile button STEP 19: change the profi le shape to a triangle to match the sloped roof line as shown in image 19 _ if prompted click Remove Constraints STEP 20: click Delete Elements from the error window _ click on the green check mark from the ribbon to fi nish _ set the Vertical Grid Pattern = 4 _ set the Horizontal Grid count = 1 _ Mirror the curtain wall over to the east elevation to complete the building model

6 Draw interior office walls STEP 21: go to the 3D View _ completed building model should look as shown in image 21 STEP 22: go to Level 1 _ type shortcut WA (wall) _ change the wall type to a Generic 5 _ change the height = Unconnected Height = 10 _ change the location Line = Wall Centerline STEP 23: trace the interior offi ce walls as shown in image 23 STEP 24: type shortcut DR (door) _ use the default door type Single-Flush 36 x completed building model 23 Place door

7 STEP 25: draw the remaining interior walls and doors as shown in image 25 STEP 26: save the Revit fi le _ in 3DS Max update the Revit link STEP 27: group objects together as needed STEP 28: render Camera001 _ save the fi le in your class-04 folder as: your initials-class jpeg Save the 3DS MAX fi le in your Class-04 folder as: your initials_class-04.max
