It explains all the basic techniques that are needed and does so in simple language which is easy to follow. It also provides some beginner projects and good advice. Meant for beginners. More advanced beaders would not find it useful. Just what I've been looking for. I'm just beginning to make jewelry and so many other Kindle jewelry books are so poorly written with no accompanying pictures. Not so here. Well worth the investment. I have always wanted to make some jewelry, but frankly, I've just gotten too overwhelmed when I get to the jewelry aisle of the craft store. When I saw this book, I downloaded it to read and see if it was really as difficult as it looks.wow - I love the pictures that explain the tools I need to get started! I needed an explanation of the different types of pliers (sorry, but it's true). It is a fantastic, detailed explanation of everything needed to get started with pictures that are clear, in color and clearly labeled. It is an awesome book for beginners and I highly recommend it! This is more of a booklet than a jewelry making book and it does provide some instruction, but I was expecting quite a bit more. It took me about 10 minutes to read the entire thing and I can't say I learned very much. The editing was sloppy and the photos were confusing in some places. I wish I would have skipped this book. Ever since my little girl was able to draw, she has been into crafts. She was into those bands and bracelets a few years ago that you buy at Michael's, then the Looms, and now she wants to do jewelry. I got her this book and she has not put it down except to drag me to the craft store for supplies. She told me to tell the author she LOVED it and wants another book with more ideas!!!!!

5 This book goes in to great detail how to make jewelry. They tell you what kind of tools you need and the different materials you can use.there is the different storage style containers for holding your beads and wires and that's all in the first chapter. Chapter 2 tells you the basics of making jewelry and I love that there are pictures to go along with it, without the pictures I would have a harder time not knowing if I was doing something right or wrong. Chapter 3 is the start of the making your own jewelry. And chapter 7 gives you tips and advice. This is a very well explained book. Ms. Helms takes you through the tools,and how to use them to actually making some pieces. she is clear and gives some good advice. This is a very good book for beginners. Some intermediate jewelry makers would probably get a few pointers from hte book as well. Well worth the price. I liked this instructional book very much. It was well illustrated and clear explanations provided a good starting point for making your own jewelry. From supplies needed to basic jewelry crafting, I was very impressed and wanted to start in making some beautiful earrings.
