2 ABOUT Edmondson Park Railway Station, NSW PRODUCT DESCRIPTION Manufactured by Fairview; Vitranamel is a decorative, high strength architectural panel with an incredibly tough, almost indestructible finish. The panel is comprised of a 1.5mm thick steel skin prefabricated into a cassette panel to the required shape and size and then prefinished in multiple layers of baked vitreous enamel coating to the specified colour. The cassette is then bonded to a calcium silicate support panel and a 0.5mm backing sheet for excellent strength and rigidity. The outstanding feature of Vitranamel is the vitreous enamel finish which is applied using a special static powder enamelling process including baking at 800 degrees. This produces a virtually indestructible finish which is one of the most durable exterior coatings in the world, and is also highly resistant to graffiti, chemicals, abrasion and impact damage. Mechanically fixed to a top-hat framing system using an integrated clip system, Vitranamel can be fabricated in a wide range of shapes (including curves in certain applications) and finished in unlimited custom colours providing flexible design possibilities along with the ultimate in low maintenance durability. 3 FIRE RESISTANCE In today s Architecture, it is the technical details, as well as the appearance that count; such as sustainability, thermal insulation, and fire protection. VITRANAMEL / VITREOUS ENAMEL PANEL Vitranamel is highly resistant to heat and can withstand temperatures of above 400 C for prolonged periods with no damage to the coating and no toxic fumes emitted when exposed to fire. Vitreous enameled steel will withstand rapid cooling by water spray from +400 C to normal room temperatures over a 30 second period, with no cracking or damage.
