Often drven by customer requests, Custom Iron has created balusters that embellsh beautful homes throughout the Unted States. Balusters are avalable n standard heghts of 36 and 42 nches. The addtonal 6" on 42" balusters s added on the bottom, unless you specfy otherwse. Steel, alumnum, stanless, brass, or copper n round or square bars. Straght or ovals or waves. Baskets and leaves. Ornamentaton of steel, brass, or copper. Offered n many shapes and szes. You can use our balusters wth the standard ralng method or you can use them to nvent your own dstnctve panel or spral star ralng. 2 Round balusters and newels have n common round bars at the ends. You wll fnd baskets, twsts, scrolls, waves, and bows accented by leaves, collars, and rngs. Round balusters are popular for the dstnctve appearance that round bar provdes as well as for the ease of nstallng the balusters. 6 Forged balusters and newels (begnnng wth the second row on ths page) are a collecton of products havng at least one square end. Forged balusters and newels are fabrcated wth embossed surfaces, ornamental hghlghts, twsts, scrolls, collars, rngs, baskets, bands, and beads. Some have been hand forged (10150, 50261) and most are avalable n a varety of materals. Custom Iron s metal scrollwork s dstngushed by ts contnuous curves: no uncurved portons of bar reman. Our scrolled balusters are avalable n several shapes wth ornamental accent and embossed bar optons. Most scrolls end on a fshtal curve. Due to job ste tolerances and condtons, we recommend that a pn be added to only one end of the baluster. Pns can be added to 1 2, 5 8, 3 4, or 1" square balusters n pn lengths of 1 2 to 1" (you specfy the length approprate for your nstallaton). You can readly see the dfference that havng a round pn at the end can make to nstallaton. Drll a hole to the proper depth. Put the pn end n. No chselng out the round hole to accept a square baluster. No messy lopsded holes left vsble after the baluster s n place. Hourglass scrolls (10217 and 10207) are avalable n hammered and chseled or smooth bar wth a twst. 20 Cast malleable ron square balusters are sought after for ther prmtve surface texture and conographc shapes. When lengthenng cast malleable balusters, the addtonal welded steel at the ends wll be vsble unless the baluster s panted.
