3 ~ Dr. Andrew Burton ~ Summary: Professor, School of Forest Resources and Environmental Science Director, Ford Center and Research Forest Education: PhD, Forest Science (Forest Ecology) from MTU in 1997 MS, Forest Hydrology & Soils, Michigan State University BS, Forestry, Michigan State University Every day in the woods is a good day don t get so caught up in the work at hand that you forget to look around and appreciate where you are. Notables: Received over $4M in research funding from the NSF, the DOE-PER, the DOE-NICCR and the EPA. Member of the Society of American Foresters, the Ecological Society of America, the Soil Society of America, the Council on Undergraduate Research and the Agronomy Society of America. Included in Who's Who Among American Teachers for 2004 and Published in numerous journals, including the Soil Science Society of America Journal, the Canadian Journal of Forest Research, The Journal of Ecology, the Journal of the Torrey Botanical Society and the Ohio Journal of Science. Wife Patricia works at Tech and they have three daughters, one of whom is a Tech alumna.

Residing in Jenison, Michigan Former Director and most recently served as Vice-President Still in communication with several of the Directors and his fraternity brothers His MTU friends would describe him as Crazy, fun, caring and driven Dan is ready to return to board and take-on leadership roles. He looks forward to fostering and building connections with fellow alumni
6 ~ Suzanne Jurva ~ Qualifications Summary: 1982 graduate in Scientific and Technical Communications. Residing in Milwaukee, Wisconsin Suzanne has won many film and television awards for producing/directing/writing and has been a part of over 50 film festivals. In 1996 she received our Outstanding Young Alumnus Award Her MTU friends would describe her as very unique, individual, quirky and creative Susan is thrilled about further branding the MTUAA and remaining connected to Michigan Tech and Alumni.
7 ~ Kristin Kolodge ~ Qualifications Summary: 1995 graduate in Mechanical Engineering. Residing in Harrison Township, Michigan Kristin self-nominated herself and seems to be very driven and clear that it s a great time in her life/career to be on the board. She helped to create the Humane Interface Design Enterprise (HIDE) program where students evaluated vehicle radio and display systems currently found in luxury cars Her MTU friends would describe her as driven, a leader and very balanced She s a strategic thinker that s ready to create connections with alumni back to the university in a relevant way whether they're recent grads or 50 year-grads.
8 ~ Derek Chapel ~ Qualifications Summary: Graduated in 2005 with an Electrical Engineering Bachelor s Degree. Resides in Petoskey, MI. He works as a Primary Patent Examiner for the U. S. Patent & Trademark Office; his main job duty is to review patent applications in the optics field. Has attained full signatory authority, only a few people at his level attain. He is a member of Mu Beta Psi (Music Fraternity) and comes to Tech to help sell programs at Tech s games every year. Plays hockey with EE professors at least once a year. His friends would describe him as happy-go-lucky, and is looking forward to giving good insights to help promote Tech s alumni and their connections with current and future students. Very personable and enthusiastic; enjoyed talking with him.
