EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR S REPORT Daniel Biggins Mr. Biggins requested the Board excuse absences for the absent board members: Mr. Thomason Mr. Cobb Mr. Feaster Page 13 of 19
14 Mr. Donovan Mr. Biggins informed the board they will be receiving an regarding CJIS training and to please complete the training at their earliest opportunity. Mr. Biggins mentioned that the Board s concerns over the exam length being shortened were taken into consideration and that the Department was able to find a way to keep the time limits the same. Mr. Biggins also mentioned that NASCLA representatives would be appearing in front of the Board at the May meeting to provide information and answer any questions. Mr. Biggins also recognized Ms. Ramsey Revell for her service to the Board. With nothing further to report the board voted unanimously to approve this report. CHAIRMAN S REPORT Rick Kane Mr. Kane discussed military endorsement applications and reminded the Board Members, by way of the Board Member Handbook, that they are required to ensure that they are not placing any unfair requirements on applicant seeking licensure. Mr. Kane asked Board Members to be cognizant of that fact when evaluating applications. With nothing further to report the board voted unanimously to approve this report. PROSECUTING ATTORNEY S REPORT Ian Brown Mr. Brown gave the following report: For the month of February 2018, the overall license activity case load was 910, up from 822 in January of 2018, and down from 971 in February There were 466 cases currently in Legal to be reviewed, 203 cases awaiting PC Panel/ Initial Review Completed, 2 cases set for probable cause, 68 cases where probable cause had been found/administrative complaints filed, 1 settlement stipulation approved, 3 informal hearings requested, 0 cases awaiting outside action, 26 cases ready for default, 80 formal hearings requested, 0 case referred to DOAH, 7 cases in settlement negotiations, 0 case pending board date, 51 cases set for board presentation, 3 cases awaiting final orders, 0 cases under appeal and 0 cases had been reopened. For the month of February 2018, 123 cases were closed; this included 12 Final Orders with Discipline. Mr. Brown also recognized Ms. Ramsey Revell for her service to the Board. With nothing further to report the board voted unanimously to approve this report. ATTORNEY GENERAL S REPORT Rachel Clark ARGUELLES, J. Ms. Clark presented this case stating Mr. Fernandez s application for a Certified Roofing Contractors license was denied at the January 2018 meeting of the Board for failure to demonstrate the required experience, pursuant to section , F.S. and Rule 61G , Florida Administrative Code. After discussion, the board voted to vacate the denial and approve the application for an Industrial Specialty license. HENAO, IVANNA REQUEST FOR INFORMAL HEARING Mr. Henao was present. Ms. Clark presented this case stating Mr. Henao s application for a Certified Roofing Contractors license was denied at the November 2017 meeting of the Board for failure to demonstrate the required experience, pursuant to section , F.S. and Rule 61G , Florida Administrative Code.
