Was elected to the Central Council of Institute of Chartered Accountants in 1979 for a three year term and served as Chairman of the Company Law Committees, Member of Accounting Standards Board, Audit Practice Committee, Disciplinary Committee, Codification Committee, Public Relations Committee and Editorial Board of the Institute s Journal. He has participated and contributed papers to various Professional seminars in India. He has also participated as Faculty member of courses arranged by State Bank of India Staff College, Management Development Institute of the Industrial Finance Corporation of India, and the Controller and Auditor General of India s Training Programme and Reserve Bank of India/IBA.

Representation on other bodies - Chairman of the Expert Group set up by the Reserve Bank of India for Designing a Supervisory Framework for Non-Banking Financial Companies. - Member of the Expert Group set up by the Reserve Bank of India for examining the Supervisory Framework for Commercial Bank. - Appointed by the Government as member of the Committee of Experts for making recommendations on Private sector participation in Indian and Iron Steel Co. Ltd., and Hindustan Paper Corporation Limited. - He is presently a member of the Advisory Council on corporate Governance, member of the Grading Committee for Construction industry and Chairman of the Health Care Grading Committee of Investment Information and Credit Rating Agency of India Limited (ICRA). - Task Force for settlement of MOU s between Public Sector Companies and concerned Ministries set up by the Department of Public Enterprises, Ministry of Industry. - Member Working Group on Review of MOU Guidelines of Central Public Sector Enterprises. - Past Member-Advisory Council, Board of financial Supervision, Reserve Bank of India.
