The mission of the Fraternity is symbolized for us in the form of the rough and perfect ashlar. They represent the process of personal change and advancement toward becoming enlightened individuals which is the goal of our order. As we become better men we become aware of our obligations to not only change ourselves and be better men, but we become aware of our obligation to join together as better men and accomplish our work to build better families, communities, schools, businesses, churches and governments. In short, nothing less than creating a better world while never losing sight of the reality that real change and progress is what happens in each of us as Masons. A better society is dependent upon us becoming better men. PERSONAL: Married to Penny, we have 5 daughters and 2 Grandchildren and live in Seabeck, WA. WHY WASHINGTON MASONIC CHARITIES? My desire to serve on the Board for Washington Masonic Charities stems from my belief that the Charitable work that we do within our Masonic community and the community at large are among our greatest opportunities to fulfill the mission and work of Masonry. We cannot just hold to a set of beliefs and obligations, we must put our words into action in order to square the circle and be relevant. Our Charitable work is some of the best work that we can do to further the public image of our Fraternity. One of the best ways to let our communities know that Masonry and Freemasons are alive and well and making contributions and bettering the lives of those we come in contact with, comes through our philanthropic work. Are we doing this work just to look good? Absolutely Not!! However, we are a dynamic organization that has much to offer and to not effectively communicate that, is to limit our ability to do good in the world. Washington Masonic Charities is an integral component of the ongoing and further success of our Fraternity. My experience serving on numerous Masonic and Non-Masonic Boards and my experience growing businesses will be of benefit to Washington Masonic Charities.

Background Career in nonprofit and recreation administration including event management, marketing, and leading an organization that helped homeless and borderline homeless individuals and families. This latter stated responsibility included oversight of maintaining and improving twelve apartments for homeless families. This experience gave me an introduction to building maintenance. Married for 20 years to Kimberly Cregeur. No children, but have kept the house active by hosting international high school students for 5-10 months from Kyrgyzstan, Japan, China, and Malaysia. Have also taken in two out of state nephews for a school year. And, we ve adopted lots of lazy basset hounds. In my spare time I enjoy exercising, gardening, reading, and as of late, mediating. My wife and I love to travel internationally. Over the past seven years we ve toured England, Peru, China, Turkey. Over the past twenty two years we ve visited 21 countries, mostly in central America, Europe and the Baltics.

Several years as a Lodge officer has taught me the necessity of organizing the administrative affairs of a Lodge just as a business must. Through my career, I have developed the skills necessary to track, manage and prioritize the many moving parts of large projects. This skill set, coupled with my love for Freemasonry, enables me to be a well-qualified member of the Grand Lodge Temple Board Association. I am able to keep the business aspect of our craft well justified while always remembering to act in the best interest of the Brethren in our Grand Jurisdiction.
