2 Introduction Esteemed Colleagues in Industry, The Current scenario of Indian economy has been characterised by optimistic growth and strong macroeconomic fundamentals that contributes towards nation s prosperity. Finance is the backbone of the industry & business, CA as finance professional and their contribution towards the growth of industry & economy is an exemplary one in the last one decade. The focus of industry towards the absorption of CAs in various fields of finance systems is very high. As on date not less than 55% of the CA community is contributing towards the growth of our industry & business. Industry is experiencing the shift towards the disclosure framework which intends to help companies communicate more effectively with investors, eliminate redundancy and ensures that investors receive useful information to guide their investment decisions. In a rapidly emerging global economy', bringing about comprehensive reforms in business world including convergence with IFRS, CARO,2016, Companies Act,2013 etc. enabling enhanced access to global capital markets to mobilise resources and facilitating inter-firm comparisons, the role of the Chartered Accountants has been expanding continually. Apart from the tradition finance disciplines, CAs work in wide range of business sectors and in a broad spectrum of roles starting from management trainee to Chief Financial Officer and perhaps to Chief Executive Officer. As the great scholar Chanakya said "A man is great by deeds, not by birth" which proves to be true in the case of CAs who put their sheer hardwork to accomplish the goals of the organisations. Chartered Accountants can help in building long lasting relationships with clients and investors of an organization. In addition, they are capable of handling all financial matters completely. The role of a CA tends to differ from company to company, depending on the nature of business. Knowledge and know-how are the keys to success and thus Chartered Accountants have the edge over their counterparts, they rise further and faster into more diverse and important roles in organisations. The Award Process The Jury consisting of established eminent leaders, shall be formed for judging the awards. A Prominent CA firm shall be appointed to carry out the process audit. The Nomination Committee will ensure that entire process of awards maintains highest level of credibility and professionalism. The Award process shall consist of the following three stages: Stage 1: Inviting Nominations Application Form for filling Nominations is available at Application can be made by: 1. The Chartered Accountant himself. 2. His/ Her Employer. 3. Any other member of ICAI. 4. Others, which the Nomination Committee may deem fit. I feel happy to announce that the Committee for Professional Accountants for Business & Industry is organising 10th ICAI Awards, 2016 at Chennai in the month of January, 2017 to recognize the outstanding performance and contribution of CAs towards the growth of industry, economy and thereby the country. The awards would be presented under various sub categories and three main categories i.e. CA Business Leader, CA CFO and CA Professional Achiever. Committee provides excellent platform to members in industry, whereby it seeks nominations and gives appreciation to the most deserving member. The whole procedure under which the nominations are accepted is fully online and has been streamlined to ensure environment friendly process and mitigate the inconvenience faced due to conventional system of inviting nominations. The awardees will be finalised by a Jury comprising of eminent leaders from various industries. Please note that the last date for sending nominations is 30th September, I personally request all the members in Industry to come forward and be a part of your own alma matter by sending nominations. I would also request all of you to be a part of the initiatives being taken by the CPABI from time to time and share your experiences to help us spread your expertise, among the members in industry at large. Sekar Chairman Committee for Professional Accountants in Business & Industry Stage 2: Short Listing by the Nomination Committee The Nomination Committee will examine, review and evaluate the nominations received. Short listing shall be based on the indicative evaluation parameters and the aggregate of scores thereon. The list of top five nominations in each category selected by the Nomination Committee will be sent to the Jury for their final selection. The decision regarding short listing by the committee shall be final. Stage 3: Final Selection by the Jury* The Jury will consider the criteria used for short listing by the Nomination Committee along with other criteria as they deem fit. It may conduct personal interviews with the finalists, if required. The Jury will determine the winner of each category based on these results. The decision of the Jury will be final. *Jury: The Jury will comprises of eminent personalities viz. leading businessmen, industrialists, representatives of national trade bodies, regulators, academicians, heads of universities, past Presidents of ICAI, journalists, politicians, persons from Film Industry and such other eminent personalities.

Nomination Guidelines The nominations shall only be from the Members in Industry. The minimum period of service should be 3 years (Nominee must have worked with the current organization for atleast 1 year. In other words members who are employed with the current organization for less than 1 year should provide documents related to previous organization). One award would be conferred in each sub categories. A person, who has won award in the past in any category, cannot be nominated again for the same category for next three years. A member of the Nomination Committee, Process Auditors and the Jury can neither be a nominee nor can they nominate any person. A Jury member cannot be nominated for any of the categories of awards for next 2 years. Nominations by the same person in different categories/ sub categories will not be considered. Nomination Committee reserves its right to reject nomination without providing any reasons thereof. Nomination Requirements Please visit for submission of the online nomination form. Nomination form is to be submitted online only. List of documents required to be uploaded by the nominee: A. Mandatory Documents 1. Nominee's Power Point presentation for ICAI Awards 2. A brief description of the nominee's organization including description of the products, services, overall strategic goals 3. Last 2 years annual report of the company 4. Organization chart of the company (Structure) Please note-the financials of the Company to be provided as on 31st March, 2016.The personal milestone(s) achieved up to 30th June B. Optional: D e t a i l s o f m e m b e r s h i p o f a n y o t h e r professional/social bodies Details of other roles held such as directorship/ member of audit committees of other companies etc. Supporting documents for the evaluation parameters. 4 Evaluation Parameters The Nomination Committee will finalise the parameters for evaluation. An illustrative list of parameters to be considered for each award category is given below: I.
