3 ABOUT THE TEAM PAUL BARILE Director Paul specializes in the origination, structure and sale of retail real estate investments in the Midwest. He assists institutions and individuals in valuation, placement, timing and marketing of core and value-add shopping centers and malls. Paul joined Transwestern in June During his career, he was responsible for nearly all of the Whole Foods shopping centers sold in Chicago, along with two Chicago lifestyle centers. Total property sales approached $2.5 billion and included core and value-add properties from $2 million dollars to $200 million per transaction. He previously served as Chairman and President of Holmes Barile Realty Advisors, a commercial real estate services firm which he founded in 1994 and subsequently sold to Grubb & Ellis in A 37-year industry veteran, Paul has sold more than 16 million square feet of retail, office, multi-family and hotel properties. A foremost expert in retail investment sales, he remains one of the most well respected professionals in the business today and the choice of major institutions for the sale of distressed assets and core properties. Paul and his partner, Janice have been instrumental in uncovering retail market trends on the horizon and advising their clients of the impact. Paul has a bachelor of science in accounting and finance from Indiana University. He is a licensed Real Estate Broker and CPA in Illinois and Indiana. JANICE SELLIS Director janice.sellis@transwestern.com Janice joined Transwestern in 2010 as a director in the Investment Services Group. She focuses on retail investment sales in the metro Chicago area and other Midwest markets. Janice covers all types of retail properties including grocery-anchored, power centers, single tenant, lifestyle centers, unanchored strips, urban retail and retail land. Recent transactions have ranged in size from $2 million dollars to $200 million and include core, value-add and distressed transactions. Janice has experience representing both buyers and sellers; clients include private owners, banks, REITS and pension fund advisors. In the three years since joining Transwestern, Janice has brokered nearly $600 million in sales. Prior to joining Transwestern, Janice was a director at Holliday Fenoglio Fowler (HFF) specializing in retail investment sales. While there, she completed over $440 million in transactions. Previously, Janice worked in the Capital Transactions group at Lend Lease REI/ Morgan Stanley where she handled real estate acquisitions in the Midwest including office, retail, industrial and multifamily properties, completing transactions totaling more than $850 million. With 15 years of commercial real estate experience, Janice has completed nearly $1.9 billion of transactions of all property types. Janice earned a bachelor of science degree from the College of Charleston in Charleston, SC. She is a licensed Real Estate Salesperson in the state of Illinois and a Chartered Financial Analyst. KELLI PASKEY Marketing Manager kelli.paskey@transwestern.com With nine years of commercial real estate marketing experience, Kelli leads a team that specializes in marketing a variety of assets on behalf of clients for three distinct teams within the Midwest. Kelli directs all marketing efforts, client communications, advertising and media relations for the team and is responsible for the development and implementation of strategic marketing campaigns to sell properties on behalf of ownership. She oversees the production of and designs offering books, HTML s and print marketing pieces, brochures, advertisements, proposals and event invitations, customizing them to each client s needs. Kelli s marketing efforts have helped successfully close over $1.3 billion in transactions since Her recent accomplishments include the implementation of in-house HTML marketing flyers and the use of responsive web design. In 2013, she successfully spearheaded the marketing and design for the largest office sale transaction (in terms of square footage) in the U.S. since Kelli received her bachelor of arts in theatre from Michigan State University with a minor in communications. STEPHANIE GEURKINK Marketing Associate stephanie.geurkink@transwestern.com Stephanie is responsible for assisting in the preparation and coordination of offering memorandums, brochures, proposals and marketing collateral. She provides day-to-day marketing and administrative support including maintaining the team s marketing database, conducting research and compiling market information. In addition, Stephanie coordinates property showings and assists in organizing closing events. A recent graduate of the Master of Arts in Interior Design program at Harrington College of Design, Stephanie brings a unique perspective to the Transwestern team. As a design student, Stephanie explored the macro scale of real estate development through the lens of interior design. She brings to the team an understanding not only of construction documents, space planning, and graphic design, but also a passion for community development and urban design. Stephanie earned a bachelor of arts degree in english from Grand Valley State University in Allendale, MI and has a master of arts degree in interior design from Harrington College of Design in Chicago, IL.
