The minimum qualifications for applying to PhD programs in School of Engineering at IIT Mandi were advertised in the institute website. The following candidates are shortlisted for the interview and/or written test. The shortlisting criterion and syllabus for the written test for each specialization were given before the shortlist. Shortlisted candidates are requested to appear for the admission process as per the schedule given below: Venue: Academic Block, I.I.T. Tech/M.E. or equivalent) Percentage Criteria for shortlisting: For General/OBC candidates with GATE qualified, 65% or 7.0 CGPA For SC/ST/PC candidates with GATE qualified, 60% or 6.5 CGPA For General/OBC graduates of IITs/IISC, 65% or 7 CGPA For SC/ST/PC graduates of IITs/IISC, 60 % or 6.5 CGPA For Direct PhD (applied for Ph. D after their B. Tech): o B. Tech (from non IIT) + GATE score >= 550 (The candidates who have applied under this category must prove that they are in top 5 % or top 20 of their university examinations). o B. A copy of the invitation/call letter received on from IIT Mandi. 2. All your original educational certificates (from Class X onwards) and also certificates/ documents related to professional experience, if any. 3. A set of self-attested photo copies of the all the certificates/documents. 4. One updated Resume/CV. 5. One Passport size photograph. 6. 8 Important notes: Those (General/OBC/SC/ST) Ph.D. candidates with ONLY a Bachelor s degree in Engineering from a non - IIT (Direct PhD after B. Tech) will need to produce the following through certificates / documents at the time of their interview: o Should be among the top 5% or 20 rank holders, declared by the University. The certificate should be issued by the university. o GATE score as mentioned in the shortlisting criterion. If you are not among the top 5% or top 20 rank holders of your university or you cannot prove your eligibility through a certificate, then please don't come for the interview. You should bring all the original certificates for verification. Carry a photocopy of the certificates. All candidates who had qualified GATE should bring the GATE score card for verification purpose. Do carry your M. Tech thesis and journal paper, if any, for the written test and/or interview Important: All shortlisted candidates will receive a call for interview via . If you do not receive any communication via before the date of your interview and your name is in the list, then please do come for your interview on the assigned date.
