In Tallulah s Tutu, she takes her first ballet lesson and is certain she ll soon receive a tutu. When her teacher doesn t think she s quite ready for that honor, Tallulah quits. But everywhere she goes, things keep reminding her of ballet and she can t seem to stop herself from dancing. In the end, Tallulah learns that ballet is about much more than the tutu. In Tallulah s Solo, Tallulah has become an accomplished ballerina and is just certain she ll be selected for a solo in the upcoming recital. Her younger brother, Beckett, is taking ballet class now too, but he is not as focused as Tallulah. He s constantly being sent to the time-out chair. Tallulah is angry when Beckett gets a bigger part in the recital than she does. Will her love of dance and her brother help Tallulah overcome her jealousy? Want more Tallulah? At the party, play Tchaikovsky s compositions from The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, or Sleeping Beauty; invite a local ballet instructor or student to teach basic techniques; decorate pink cupcakes; read Tallulah s Tutu and Tallulah s Solo aloud; and play the ballet games and activities that follow! 3 Pin the Tutu on Tallulah Game Supplies needed: Scissors Tape A bare door or wall A blindfold Instructions: Tape the following page, with the image of Tallulah, to a bare wall. Cut out the tutus below and pass one to each player. Write each player s name on her tutu and add a piece of tape so the tutu will stick face-up to the wall. One by one, blindfold each player and have her do three pirouettes. Point her toward Tallulah and have her affix her tutu to the wall. The tutu closest to fitting Tallulah correctly wins!
