2 Korea Leap Forward by Embracing Gender Diversity Korea Network of Women in Finance ( KNWF ) was established in 2003 by senior women managers and executives in Finance Industry with the objective of promoting gender equality and diversity. Despite the fact that female workforce in Finance Industry today accounts for more than half, women take up only 2% of senior management positions in Korea. On the political side, President Moon Jae-In filled 30% of his cabinet with women but in Financial Industry sector, glass ceiling still holds very firm and only very tiny cracks have been made so far. In our efforts to continue to breakdown the glass ceiling, accelerate women advancement and reach 30% of female executive ratio, we host our fourth annual International Conference of Korean Women in Finance with the theme of Women Lead Economic Growth Korea leap forward by embracing gender diversity -. Last year, Madam Christine Lagarde of IMF kicked off our annual Conference as the keynote speaker which was attended by many influential people from both public and private sector. Through her speech and backed by IMF research data, Lagarde successfully showcased the audience that empowering women drives better decisions, creates economic growth and makes for a more sustainable society. This year, Hiro Mizuno-san, CIO of Government Pension Investment Fund Japan, the world s largest pension fund kindly agreed to deliver keynote speech in our Conference. Mizunosan plans to share how Japan is enabling women empowerment and driving economic growth through Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) investment strategy. We have no doubt this year s Conference will serve as another springboard in unleashing the potential of Korean women in business. 3 Keynote speaker: Hiro Mizuno Executive Managing Director and CIO Government Pension Investment fund (GPIF) Mr. Hiro Mizuno has served as Executive Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer of Japan s US$1.5trillion Government Pension Investment Find (GPIF) since January Prior to joining GPIF, he was a partner of Coller Capital, a London-based private equity firm. He previously worked as Sumitomo Trust & Banking Co., Ltd. in Japan, Silicon Valley and New York. Mr. Mizuno is a member of the Board and Asset Owner Advisory Committee of PRI, a cochair of the Milken Institute s Global Markets Advisory Council. He is also an executive adviser to Japanese cabinet on Healthcare and Medical Growth Strategy, a member of Japanese Government Strategic Funds Integrated Advisory Board, a member for Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology-Japan National University Evaluation Committee. His engagements in academics involve: a advisor, Office of President of the University of Tokyo, a guest professor of Osaka University Graduate School of Medicine, an adviser to the Kyoto University s Center for ips Cell Research and Application, and a guest professor of Kindai University Global Economic Research Center, s senior fellow of Tel Aviv University Graduate School of Management and a member of the International Executive Committee for the Einstein Legacy Project at Hebrew University. Awarded Outstanding Individual Contribution in RI (Responsible Investor) Innovation & Industry Leadership Mr. Mizuno has an MBA from Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University. 2
