1 David Wilson Allen, 32 KCCH was born May 4, 1936 in Webb City, Missouri to Roy and Beatrice Allen. Shortly after his birth, the family moved to Hotchkiss, Colorado. He graduated from Hotchkiss High School in He married Betty Jo Kirk and moved to Cortez, Colorado, where he worked as a barber for fifty-nine years. On March 11, 1972, he married Glenda Stone. Dave and Glenda owned and operated Allen s Trailer Park from 1976 to Dave was a lifetime member of the Elks. He was active in the Montezuma County Sheriff Posse, where he served as Major for one year. Dave was initiated as an Entered Apprentice on June 1, 1965 in Cortez Lodge #133. He was passed to the Degree of Fellow Craft on May 27, 1965 and raised to the sublime Degree of Master Mason on July 14, In July 2014 Dave received his 50 year Masonic Service Award. In 1972 He was made a 32 Master of the Royal Secret and in 2007 was conferred with the honor and distinction of Knight Commander of the Court of Honor. 2 Edwin Deane Chase, 33 was born March 26, 1930, to Raymond and Eva (Lattimer) Chase, near Lebanon, Kansas. There he spent his childhood, graduating from high school in He served in the Navy Seabees He married Fern Higgins in Together they had five children. Illustrious Brother Ed was initiated as an Entered Apprentice on November 28, 1960 in Rangely Lodge #175. He was passed to the Degree of Fellow Craft on December 19, 1960, and was raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason on January 16, He served his lodge as Master in In 1987, Ed was made a 32 Master of the Royal Secret in Valley of Grand Junction Consistory, and in 1997 was conferred with the honor and distinction of Knight Commander of the Court of Honor. In 2001 Illustrious Brother Ed Chase was coroneted as a 33, Inspectors General Honorary, Scottish Rite Mason. He was also a member of El Jebel Shrine and the Western Colorado Shrine Club and enjoyed parading in a miniature Corvette for many years all over Western Colorado. As a member of York Rite, Ed was past Grand High Priest of Knights Templar of Colorado. I llustrious Brother Edwin Dean Chase, 33 died at the age of 88 on December 13, 2018.
3 Floyd Edward Bodie Collins, 32 was born October 19, 1928 in Simenial, Oklahoma. He moved to Carthage, Texas when he was 14 years old. In 1948 he met and married his loving wife Virginia. Bodie worked in the oil field industry since 1942 traveling from Texas to North Dakota. He and his family moved to the Roaring Fork Valley in 1965 where he founded the Collins Drilling and Pump Service. Floyd was initiated as an Entered Apprentice on February 11, 1947 in George Washington Lodge #161 in Denver, Colorado. He was passed to the Degree of Fellow Craft on March 25, 1947; and raised to the sublime Degree of Master Mason on May 6, In 1967 Floyd was made a 32 Master of the Royal Secret in the Valley of Grand Junction, Orient of Colorado. Floyd Edward Bodie Collins, 32, died at the age of 90 on October 19, 2018.
4 Harvey Lee Crawford, 32 was born November 23, 1930 to Ivan and Lera (Donathon) Crawford in Craig Colorado. He spent the first 10 years of this life in and out of the Shriner s Hospital where he was lucky enough to kiss Betty Grable on the cheek. When in town, he attended the Grand Junction Riverside School. He lived in Grand Junction for 83 of his 88 years and graduated from Grand Junction High School before joining the Army. He served in the infantry during the Korean War. Harvey returned home after serving his country and married Nancy (Stillwagon) Crawford on May 24, Harvey and Nancy had a son, Dennis, born in December Harvey was a collections agent, served on the Sheriff Posse, and spent most of his time as a surveyor for the government and local agencies. He loved being part of the local Shriners and enjoyed driving the little car in the parades. He was a member of the Eagles and Moose Lodges, the VFW and The Grand Junction Trap Club. He had an enthusiasm for shooting sports and loved skeet shooting and hunting. He had many interests including horses, saddles and guns. Harvey was an amazing man. He loved his family and his country. Brother Harvey was raised a Master Mason on June 24, 1975 in Palisade Lodge #125 and received his degrees in the Scottish Rite from the Grand Junction Consistory on October 30, Harvey is survived by his wife of 65 years, Nancy; his only child Dennis and his wife Viola Crawford; his only grandchild, Candace Diaz, and his only great grandchild, Alexander Diaz, all from Grand Junction. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ivan and Lera Crawford and brother Wayne Crawford. Harvey Lee Crawford, 32 passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at Mantey Heights Care Center in Grand Junction.
5 George Dunham 32 was born to Col. Fred and Florence Dunham on November 26, 1936, in Pueblo, CO, and grew up in several locations in the US and abroad. He graduated from Colorado School of Mines in 1959, and began a career as a coal mining engineer in Colorado and Utah, eventually moving east to Kentucky, Virginia, and West Virginia. He married his high school sweetheart, Lynn Chedester, in George and Lynn took an interest in real estate and became Realtors. After moving back west in 1996, they established George Dunham Real Estate in Grand Junction, where he was known for his red hats and friendly approach to real estate. George was initiated as an Entered Apprentice on January 13, 1968 in Paonia Lodge #121. He was passed to the Degree of Fellow Craft on February 10, 1968 and raised to the sublime Degree of Master Mason on March 2, In 1953, George was made a 32 Master of the Royal Secret in 1969 in the Valley of Grand Junction, Orient of Colorado. George Arthur Dunham 32 died July 5, 2018 at the age of 81.
6 Harold Joe Kendrick, 32 He was born May 15, 1925 to Ernest Eli and Nellie Faye (Roberts) Kendrick in Oklahoma. In late 1930 the family moved to a farm in Cedaredge where Joe graduated high school. He followed his oldest brother into the Navy as an Aviation Ordnanceman 3c, serving in the Asiatic Pacific area. After his discharge, he graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago and practiced in Durango before moving to Grand Junction. In 1955 he married Ruth "Gerri" Howell and together they raised three children He was active in Kiwanis, Presiden t of the Colorado Optometric Association and served on the Coloroado Optometric Board of Examiners, Bank of Orchard Mesa/ CNB Bank and Hilltop boards. Harold was initiated as an Entered Apprentice on September 28, 1950 in Durango Lodge #46. He was passed to the Degree of Fellow Craft on October 19, 1950, and raised to the sublime Degree of Master Mason on November 9, In 1965, Harold was made a 32 Master of the Royal Secret in the Valley of Grand Junction, Orient of Colorado. Harold Joe Kendrick, 32 died at the age of 93 on December 1, 2018.
7 Edwin L. Macy, 32 was born June 27, 1930, to Merle E. and Ruth G. Macy in Montrose, Colorado. He spent his childhood in Montrose, graduating from Montrose High School in He received his B.A. degree from Western State College in Gunnison in He served 16 months in the Adjutant General Message Center Headquarters, Eighth U.S. Army in Korea in 1953 and 1954, where he attained the rank of Sergeant. He then was granted a graduate assistantship at Western State College, where he taught classes in conducting and band instruments. He received his M.A. Degree in He taught band in Ouray in the school year, and taught band in the Olathe Schools from 1956 to After he received his library certification at UNC at Greeley in 1982, he became the librarian at Columbine Junior High School, later Columbine Middle School in Montrose, where he worked until 1993 when he retired. On July 31, 1955, he married Nancy Stephenson at Doyleville, Colorado. On July 17, 1994 Ed married Rosemary Stuver in Montrose, Colorado. He was a member of the Chipeta Chapter of the Colorado Archeological Society. Accordingly, he was a member of St. Paul s Episcopal Church, where he served on the Vestry Board from 1990 to Ed and Rosemary also served as ushers for many years at St. Paul s Church. He served as President of the Western Slope Music Educators, President of the Uncompahgre Valley Education Association, President of the Olathe Rotary, President of the Chipeta Chapter of the Colorado Archaeological Society, as well as being the chapter representative to the State Archaeological Society Board of Directors for several years Edwin was initiated as an Entered Apprentice on April 28, 1966 in Olathe Lodge #157. He was passed to the Degree of Fellow Craft October 27, 1966, and raised to the sublime Degree of Master Mason on June 9, Brother Ed was Master of the Olathe Masonic Lodge as well as Lodge Secretary for 10 years. Edwin L. Macy, 32 passed away on July 13, 2018.
8 Richard Lee Moore, 32 was born on August 17, He was initiated as an Entered Apprentice on June 12, 1964 in Grand Junction Lodge #173 in Grand Junction, Colorado. He was passed to the Degree of Fellow Craft on October 10, 1964, and raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason on November 28, In 1966 Richard was made a 32 Master of the Royal Secret in the Valley of Grand Junction, Orient of Colorado Richard Lee Moore, 32 died on September 10, He was 86 years old.
9 Howard Ulmer Motz 32 was born on February 23, 1930 in Grand Junction, Colorado. Howard was a licensed Professional Civil Engineer and Professional Land Surveyor, and served as assistant City Engineer for the City of Grand Junction and a contract Civil Engineer for the City of Glenwood Springs. As Vice-President and General Manager of Corn Construction, he helped start Grand Junction Pipe & Supply Company and oversaw a major renovation of the Glenwood Hot Springs Pool in the 1960's. He started his own road construction company, GMCO, which serviced all of Western Colorado and is still in operation today. Additionally, he was involved in the development of numerous residential and commercial developments including Oak Meadows in Glenwood Springs and The Ridges subdivision in Grand Junction and was manager of the Ridges Metropolitan District. He later changed career paths and was a principal in creating and managing the Housing Assistance Programs (HAC) which provided low interest loans in the 1970's for single family homes in Mesa County. He was appointed to and served on state and local commissions as well as other various financial and corporate boards. Howard was initiated as an Entered Apprentice on June 12, 1964 in Grand Junction Lodge #173 in Grand Junction, Colorado. He was passed to the Degree of Fellow Craft on October 10, 1964, and raised to the sublime Degree of Master Mason on November 28, Howard was made a 32 Master of the Royal Secret in the Valley of Grand Junction, Orient of Colorado in He was active in York Rite and was a 50 year member of El Jebel Shrine. Howard Ulmer Motz 32 died on September 9, He was 88 years old.
10 Ronald Lee Veselack, 32 was born on in Bloomington/Normal, IL, to John and Helen Veselack. He married his high school sweetheart, Marilyn Warren, in Ron graduated from Illinois State University with bachelor s and master s degrees. He taught at Hopedale, IL; Burris Laboratory School at Ball State University in Muncie, IN, and in public and private schools including Holy Family Catholic School in Grand Junction, CO. where he served as Band/Music Director From 1994 to his retirement in His community service included direction of the Grand Junction s Centennial Band and Sentimental Journey Band that played for retirement and nursing homes, churches, and fundraisers. Brother Ron was a 50-year Mason and member of Palisade Lodge #125 where he served as Master in 2002 and as secretary for many years prior to his passing. He received his degrees in the Scottish Rite from the Grand Junction Consistory on April 23, Ron s father, mother and brother preceded him in death and leaves his wife of 62 years, Marilyn; son Mark, of Oak Park, Illinois; and daughter, Joan Gennarini of Bear, Delaware. Ronald Lee Veselack, 32 died on March 6, 2019.
He is survived by a son, Douglas, and daughters, Roma Buchanan, Crystal Boyd, and Natalie Weeks.
