2 Looking back with gratitude. I am pleased to share with you the 2016 Annual Report for Presbyterian Communities and Services Foundation. We deeply value your investment in our mission. 3 The Grace Caring Fund provides a safety net for those residents who out-live their funds, ensuring they can continue to live at Grace Presbyterian Village among their friends and faith community. Support from generous individuals, churches and organizations allowed more than 65 residents to stay in their homes at Grace. $217,114 was earned from Careships and endowments, primarily for the Grace Caring Fund. We received a $35,000 grant from the AWARE Fund of The Dallas Foundation. Funding from AWARE provides subsidies through the Grace Caring Fund for care of residents suffering from Alzheimer s or dementia. Quality memory care is costly and can quickly eat away at a person s life savings. Nearly half of Grace Caring Fund beneficiaries are residents who are diagnosed with Alzheimer s and other dementias.

5 In September, the foundation hosted dedication events for The Rev. Dr. Blair and Cyndy Monie Chapel at Presbyterian Village North. The foundation gratefully acknowledges this gift to the Presbyterian Village North community made possible by generous donations from members of Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church and Presbyterian Village North Foundation. John and Ann Jones honored their parents with gifts to install and maintain the Bob and Nancy Jones Butterfly and Prayer Garden, naming of the lectern and an endowment to benefit spiritual care. Laurence Hamric and Sara Hamric Freund honored their parents, Fred and Barbara Hamric, with gifts to name the communion table and an endowment to benefit pastoral care and spiritual enrichment programs.

6 The T. Boone Pickens Hospice and Palliative Care Center received a combined $2.8 million from four Dallas families near the end of the year. Sammye and Mike Myers and the family of Don W. Hodges each donated $1 million. Charlotte Test added $344,500 to her previous contribution of $2.5 million, and Margot and Ross Perot gave $500,000. These generous gifts will help us serve families in Dallas by enhancing landscaping and various other areas both indoors and outdoors at the center and we are extremely grateful for these contributions. The interest in this unique project that has the capacity to help so many is high, and we are optimistic that the capital campaign will be concluded in The Marnie and Kern Wildenthal Education Center was named to honor the Wildenthals contributions to the medical and educational landscape in the North Texas area.

8 Henry Winkler s (a.k.a. The Fonz) mix of humor and passion was just the right recipe for the seventh annual Each Moment Matters Luncheon on October 28th. The luncheon raises money for the Faith Presbyterian Hospice Caring Fund, which provides support for terminally ill patients needing assistance. $370,000 was contributed to the Caring Fund as a result of the 2016 luncheon. We are grateful for co-chairs Barbara Hunt Crow and Lucy Johnson, our volunteers, donors, sponsors and board members who generously supported the luncheon.

9 Legacy: an investment in our future. Don Tidwell s legacy to his family, friends, and colleagues is the life he lived daily through humble service and caring. With Don s earthly departure in August of 2016, we lost an important member of the Presbyterian Communities and Services family. His presence will live on through his legacy gift that supports the Grace Caring Fund and a stained glass window named for him in the T. Boone Pickens Hospice and Palliative Care Center.
