4 our process Discovery A CFO FOR YOUR FINANCES We follow a very disciplined approach to help you create a comprehensive wealth management plan. This begins with a detailed discovery process, where we develop an in-depth understanding of your needs and your goals. Our first step is to learn everything we need to know to design a customized wealth management plan for you. We will review your account statements to learn what assets you hold, and types of accounts you hold them in. We will talk about your cash flow needs and your personal, professional and philanthropic goals. We ll ask about your family and your plans for your children and grandchildren. In the process, we try to learn about your attitude toward risk and other aspects of your personality that impact investment decisions. We try to get a sense of your personality and any issues in your professional and family life that could impact your financial strategy. By understanding who you are and what you like, we are better able to help you develop a plan to support the people, causes and institutions that enrich your life. We encourage our clients to consider us as the CFO of their personal lives. You tell us your situation and set your goals, and we will design and implement a comprehensive plan so that you and your family will reach them. 5 MONITORING AND ADJUSTMENT TAX, TRUST & ESTATE REVIEW ASSET ALLOCATION We will propose what we believe to be the best asset allocation for you within each of your accounts and across your entire household. These recommendations are based on your specific goals, circumstances and attitude towards risk. Our professionals monitor your portfolios on a daily basis to make sure they remain in line with your goals, and maintain regular communication with you to make sure your goals have not changed. We are likely to make periodic tactical recommendations if we see a promising opportunity, but are cautious to recommend changes in your overall allocation unless your circumstances change. We are always available to answer your questions and address your service requests. Often coordinating our efforts with your CPA, attorney and other advisors, we review your charitable trusts and estate plan strategy. Our focus is on minimizing your tax liabilities by locating your assets in the most suitable trusts, retirement accounts and other structures. IMPLEMENTATION Drawing on the experience of our team, as well as the research and due diligence capabilities of Morgan Stanley, we recommend the investments and investment managers we believe are best suited for each portion of your allocation. We typically favor actively managed funds for the equity and alternatives portion of your allocation and custom-built bond portfolios for the fixed-income portions.

9 Sean Yu, CFP, CPWA Managing Director 常務董事 Wealth Advisor Portfolio Manager Sean Yu draws on over a decade of financial planning experience and an extensive educational background to provide customized advice, investment solutions, and financial planning services to high net worth families, businesses and foundations. His primary focus is on building globally diversified portfolios, based on his clients specific needs, with a goal of producing competitive risk-adjusted performance. Sean has taken advantage of every opportunity to expand the services he can offer his clients. Sean is registered with FINRA, holds his Series 7, 31 and 66 licenses, and is a registered California State Life Insurance Agent (No. 0E12405). He has also been designated a Morgan Stanley International Client Advisor, Retirement Planning Specialist, Estate Planning Consultant and Rule 144 Specialist. Sean received his M.A. in International Relations from the University of Chicago, where he continues to volunteer as an undergraduate admissions interviewer and as a mentor in the undergraduate and graduate externship program. Sean has also established a fellowship fund at the University of Chicago and Cal Poly Pomona to help underprivileged students. He has also established a scholarship through the Chinese Club of San Marino and, in 2013, taught a session of EMBA online courses through Peking University. Through all of these efforts, his goal is to provide deserving students from low-income families with educational opportunities they would not otherwise have. Sean is actively involved in Southern California s Asian and Taiwanese community, serving as Chairman of the 2013 Taiwanese American Heritage Week Festival. He enjoys playing basketball, reading and spending time with his wife, Christine, and daughter, Riley. 10 Christine Yu Financial Advisor Steven Lin Business Development Director Assistant Vice President Jenny Lee, CRPC Consulting Group Analyst Christine Yu focuses on developing and enhancing relationships with the Group s high net worth clients by delivering a service experience that is above and beyond the call of duty. Endowed with a particularly high emotional quotient ( EQ ) specialty, Christine works to gain an in-depth understanding of how each client thinks and feels, so that Sean and the rest of the team are better able to address their needs and concerns. Christine s work allows our clients to feel more comfortable talking to our team and aids the team in responding more efficiently to our clients requirements. In 2008, she was awarded the Morgan Stanley Above Client Expectations award for client service. Christine joined the group in 2006 after spending two years at Merrill Lynch. Christine earned a B.S. in International Business from Cal State Long Beach, is registered with FINRA and holds her Series 7, 31 and 66 licenses. She enjoys traveling, and has taken recent trips to Asia, Europe and the South Pacific with her family. Christine lives in Pasadena with her husband, Sean, and their daughter, Riley. Steven meets regularly with clients to review their portfolios and to make sure that we have an up-to-date understanding of their evolving needs. He spends much of his time providing special analysis on a wide range of investment vehicles. As the team s second-in-command, Steven is also responsible for managing the group s support staff, working to create and maintain an exceptional level of service for every client of the Group. Steven is a multiple recipient of Morgan Stanley s Service Excellence Award for the complex, regional and whole division in Steven received a B.S. in Management Science from the University of California, San Diego, and Steven is registered with FINRA, holds his Series 3, 7, 31 and 66 licenses, and is a registered California State Life Insurance Agent (No. 0G23312). A fan of good music and fine food, Steven lives in Arcadia with his wife, and newborn daughter, Sarah. This includes enhancing client relationships; conducting due diligence on all products; and ensuring that all trades are correctly executed and aligned with each client s investment strategy. In addition, Jenny also assists in preparing clients investment proposals. Jenny became a part of the team at Morgan Stanley in 2013 after spending six years at Merrill Lynch and another two at Chase Investment Services. Jenny received her B.A. in Business Management from Oklahoma City University, and later obtained her MBA in Corporate Finance at the University of Dallas. Jenny is registered with FINRA, holds her Series 3, 4, 7, 24, 53 and 66 licenses, and is a registered California State Life Insurance Agent (No. 0G21383). In her spare time, she likes to watch romantic movies and spend time with her family, especially her two daughters, Elaine and Ines. 11 Patty Chao Client Service Associate Julie Liu Wealth Management Associate Kelvin Tang Client Service Associate A member of the team since 2009, Patty Chao focuses on providing and maintaining an exceptional client service experience. In particular, she works to promote client satisfaction by addressing and resolving client inquiries in a timely manner. Patty helps with all aspects of operations, including opening new accounts, processing transfers, wires, and account maintenance. She has extensive experience across a broad range of account types, including 401(k), defined benefit plans, target benefit plans, profit-sharing plans and other retirement accounts. Patty is also skilled at opening accounts for the team s individual, charitable remainder, donor-advised funds, corporate, nonprofit, foundation, trusts, and other institutional clients. Patty received a B.A. in Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles. In her free time, she enjoys playing basketball, painting and spending time with her friends and family. Languages: English, Mandarin Chinese and some Cantonese pei-ti.chao@morganstanley.com Julie Liu focuses on developing marketing strategies that will help meet the business plan for our team. She also contributes to both customer service and client education efforts. This includes maintaining the team s website, LinkedIn accounts and marketing materials; organizing client seminars, dinners and other events; administrating sponsorships and coordinating other marketing efforts. She also supports her fellow team members, working with Patty in operations on handling new accounts, cash management, online services, and general administration. She also assists Jenny with investments and trading. Julie enjoys building a relationship with our clients and meeting members of their families. Her goals are to provide exceptional customer service to exceed client s expectations. The newest member of the team, Julie has worked in the financial industry for over seven years. Julie is registered with FINRA, holds her Series 7 and 66 licenses, and is a registered California State Life Insurance Agent (No. 0H80404). In her free time, she enjoys hiking, hot yoga, cycling class at the gym and spending time with friends and family. Kelvin also focuses on gathering economic data for the team and analyzing current market trends. Being a parttime associate, Kelvin also provides assistance to the other team members, so that they may provide the exceptional service that the clients deserve. Kelvin is an expert in various research tools, including Bloomberg and Morningstar. Kelvin is receiving a B.S. in Business Administration and a minor in Enterprise Information Systems from the University of Southern California. When away from work and school, he can be found outside of the house with friends and family. In terms of hobbies, he loves playing golf and shooting pool.
