2 Ivory Capital, Houston, Texas (HF based in Los Angeles, CA) Machine Learning Consultant Asset Allocation/Risk Mgt ( ) Chief Economist/Global Macro Analyst (12/2010 9/2013) I was head financial economist for a Los Angeles based, multi billion dollar hedge fund (a Bloomberg Markets Top 100 Performing Large Hedge Funds) where I: 1) Machine Learning Research worked on Machine Learning techniques to improve risk management and identify possible asset allocation strategies based on numerous macro regimes. This includes identifying limits/pitfalls to such methods. Identified helpful patterns in the data for investments/risk management purposes 2) Developed the fund s Global Macro Investment Outlook: Before moves in asset prices and consensus, I predicted US Growth Scares/corrections Eurozone Recession China/commodity slowdown UK recession In a separate position, I predicted the recession back in early ) Created a $200 million portfolio of international stocks, both on the long and short side, to express my macro investment views. This portfolio had abnormal positive returns as the macro views played out. 4) Was the number 2 under the Co Founder/Chief Risk Officer, and conducted numerous investment research projects related to risk management and asset allocation. Developed a new proprietary risk management system that tied macro and other risk factors to existing and potential new investment positions. 5) Supported Other Portfolio Managers in quantitative studies evaluating existing/new investment positions. 2

I predicted the Recession back in early I also developed quant models used for trading and corporate decision making, and contributed to financial market and macroeconomic variable forecasts. My work also included special projects for the CEO and CFO. The Center for Economic Forecasting and Analysis, Tallahassee, FL Economist (12/2001 7/2005) I was a researcher for university economics and business research center where I conducted applied economics research, for mostly local government officials.
