TheCompanyadded6.4millionouncesofgoldreserves,4.4millionouncesthroughexplorationandprojectsand2.0millionouncesthroughrevisionsandacquisitions.Newmont reported5.3millionouncesofattributablemineproductionin2017resultingin6.4millioncontainedouncesofreservedepletion. Copper TheCompanyincreasedcopperreservesbysevenpercentto1.2milliontonnesandcopperresources 1 werelargelyunchangedat2.3milliontonnes. Exploration Outlook Newmont stotalattributableexplorationexpenditure 3 isexpectedtoincreasetoapproximately$230millionin2018withabout70percentallocatedtojust-in-timedeliveryofthe highestmarginreservesandresourcesandtheremaining30percentallocatedtogreenfields,brownfieldsandinnovationprograms.geographically,thecompanyexpectstospendabout 39percentofthisamountinNorthAmerica,20percentinAustraliaandtheremainderinSouthAmerica,Africaandotherlocations.
