Biography Dr Karl Pilny is Managing Partner of asia-21 for more than 10 years. Before this he was Managing Partner of Travers Smith and Coudert Brothers in Germany. For more than twenty years Dr Pilny offers advice about China, Japan, Korea and India. He is an experienced international business lawyer with vast experience in structuring and executing international projects, particularly in Asia. He initiates capital market investment funds and advises on asset allocation and fund management. He is a business angel and has co-founded a venture capital company. Dr Pilny is investing in numerouse start-ups, in which he takes an active advisory role. Dr Pilny lectured German Law at the Universities of Kyoto and Osaka, was a Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for International Intellectual Property Law in Munich. He founded EBG Investment Solutions an international provider of tailored investment management and advisory services for institutional clients in the area of sustainable investments.
