1 Anthony David is the co-founder of Impact Hub Kuala Lumpur, Director of Impact Projects & Intrapreneurship at Scope Group and a consultant for UNDP Egypt on social entrepreneurship. David currently manages the Volunteering for International Professionals (VIP) Fellowship Programme, an initiative under the Malaysia s National Blue Ocean Strategy led by Ministry of Finance Malaysia. VIP Fellowship programme offers the opportunity for international professionals to use their expertise in addressing Malaysia s most pressing social issues. David was the Programme Director at StartupMalaysia.org since its inception in David has proven track records of successfully designing and delivering high impact programmes and events in a very innovative and impactful manner and he is seen as a superconnector in community building. In 2013, he concluded two mega events (Mega Startup Weekend & 1MET Bootcamp) in Malaysia reaching out to more than 15,000 entrepreneurs in conjunction with President Barack Obama's visi to Malaysia. In 2011, as part of the launch of StartupMalaysia.org, he successfully designed and delivered a world-class conference called Silicon Valley Comes to Malaysia which was ranked as one of the top 10 events in Malaysia for David's expertise & experience is in social entrepreneurship and CSR which spans across the globe. In 2010, he was the Global Operations Manager with Telecentre.org Foundation based in Manila, Philippines managing a network of 70+ partners across 6 regions. David has also played a key role as a Programme and Research Officer with Global Knowledge Partnership (GKP), the world's first multi-stakeholder network to promote innovation and advancement in Knowledge and Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) for Development. David's experience and expertise is very much sought after by local & international organisations as reflected by various speaking engagements in Kuala Lumpur, Chile, Budapest, Zurich, London, Cairo, Delhi, Manila, Singapore, Romania and Bangkok. He had represented Malaysia at the Suzanne Mubarak's International Youth Forum on ICT4 Peace in Egypt as well as the 7th Summit of Social Entrepreneurs in Ru schlikon, Switzerland organized by Schwab Foundation. David began his career with Malaysia s leading English newspaper, The Star. He is a scholar with an MBA with Distinction from University of East London (UK) and has written a paper on CSR in Malaysia with UN Global Compact Malaysia.
2 Hani Eskandar is the ICT Applications Coordinator at the ICT Applications and Cybersecurity Division. Mr. Eskandar is currently involved in providing assistance to several developing countries by advising on ehealth strategies and policies, assisting in implementing technical co-operation projects and developing guidelines and best-practices on ehealth applications. Previously, Mr. Eskandar had extensive experience in the field of ICT for Development where he, through his work with UNDP and other local NGOs in Cairo, Egypt, was involved in several development projects in the fields of Health, Education, Illiteracy Eradication, Community Development, SME development and Micro Credits. This included, among others, introducing Telemedicine services in rural areas, introducing ICT in Schools, creating Community Development Portals, Community Learning Centres, developing e- Learning and training programs for Youth. Mr. Eskandar has an educational background in Electrical Engineering (Telecommunications) and has completed an MBA from McGill University, Canada and a Master Degree in Social and Economic Development Studies from University of Paris I, France.
3 Mosharraf Hossain is the Director of Global Policy, Influencing & Research of ADD International - engaged in the negotiation of SDGs and spoke in UN Sustainable Development Summit 2015 for the participation of persons with disabilities in the implementation of SDGs. Country Director of ADD International in Bangladesh for 20 years and consultant to UNDP, UNICEF, and DFID. Working in Senior Management Team of ADD International, a member of UN TG of International Disability and Development Consortium (IDDC). Have a track record of delivering strategy, implementing multiple disability and development programme to reduce extreme poverty, inequality and discrimination. Have skills of influencing, project planning, negotiation, fundraising, networking, cross-cultural communication and inspiring other to facilitate change. Completed a Master from Harvard Kennedy School. Born in Bangladesh, he has lived experience of disability.
4 Dr Cae-One Kim is Professor Emeritus, Seoul National University. He graduated from the Law College at Seoul National University (1961) and majored in international trade at Université Libre de Bruxelles(Ph.D, 1969). As Professor at Department of Economics of Seoul National University ( ) and Dean of College of Social Sciences, he taught international economics. He successively served as President of numerous Korean academic associations including Korea Economic Association, International Economic Studies, EU Studies Association and EUSA Asia-Pacific ( ). He was also founding President ( ) and Chairman of Korea Information Strategy Development Institute ( ), Korea Monetary Board Member ( ), Commissioner of Financial Supervisory Commission ( ) and Chairman/CEO of National Research Council for Economics, Humanities and Social Sciences ( ). He has served as a Senior Advisor to Korea s KSP (knowledge sharing program, KDI) with Algeria ( ), Tanzania (2014)and Kyrgyz Republic(2015- ). He is currently Chairman/CEO of World Economy Research Institute (WERI, 2006-). On his contribution to enhancing Korea-Europe academic exchanges, he was awarded French Government decoration, Légion d honneur(1990). In relation to publication activities, he wrote many books and articles on international economics and Korean economy including Economic Reforms in the Socialist World (1989, McMillan), Korean Economy at Turning Point (1996, Kor.), Economics of the EU (2004, Kor.), Conditions for the Successful Establishment of East Asian Free Trade Area (2006, Kor.), EU s Common Commercial Policy and International Trade Relations (2007, Kor.), A Road to an Asian Economic Community: Post Crisis New World Order (2010), Case Studies on Operation and Managing Framework of Country Partnership Strategy (2013, Kor.), Improving Aid Effectiveness through Active Implementation of CPS in Bolivia (2014, Kor.) and Are Mega Free Trade Agreements the Best Alternative for Advancing Global Trade Liberalization?(2014).
5 Dr. Eun-Ju Kim is currently Chief, Innovation & Partnership Department, and Administrator for ICT Development Fund (ICT-DF), at BDT/International Telecommunication Union (ITU), with responsibilities for Development Sector s membership, partnership, resource mobilization, innovation, Study Groups, and ICT-DF. Prior to moving to the ITU Headquarters, she has been serving as Regional Director of ITU Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific based in Thailand; Director for Regulatory Affairs at the ICO Global Communications based in the UK; Lecturer for Telecommunication Policies and Regulations at the London City University in the UK; and Senior Adviser to Minister at the Ministry of Communications in the Republic of Korea. She has been educated from the Seoul National University in the Republic of Korea for the first Master s Degree; the London City University in the UK for the second Master s and Ph. Degrees; and the Harvard Kennedy School in the USA for Executive Education. She has been awarded by the Governments of the R. O. Korea and Mongolia as well as the ITU. Her main achievements include carrying out numerous pragmatic and applied researches and projects to raise awareness, build capacities and skills, and develop systems in the interdependent world especially led by telecommunications/icts; contributing to legal and regulatory frameworks for the GMPCS through multi-stakeholder partnerships from its private-public sectors to the UN system such as ITU/WTO; developing educational modules and lectures for telecommunication/communication courses; contributing to the development of telecommunication/ict infrastructure, applications, and frameworks of policies, regulations and legislations especially in countries of the Asia-Pacific region with particular attentions to empowerment of women, youth, aged and persons with disabilities; enhancing ITU membership and innovative partnership in ecosystem; and mobilizing resources and administrating ICT-DF to support projects contributing to the sustainable development, especially for the least developed countries, small island developing states and countries in special needs.
6 Sherif El-Tokali is Assistant Resident Representative at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Egypt Country Office and the Innovation for Development Team Leader. El-Tokali joined UNDP Egypt in 1991 and has been working on promoting the Information and Communications Technology for Development (ICT4D) Portfolio, leading to the formation of the EGYPT ICT4D Trust Fund in 2002 and the implementation of several flagship ICT4D projects in Egypt. Sherif El-Tokali is currently managing the UNDP Egypt Innovation for Development Lab, comprising of several social innovation and entrepreneurship programmes targeting youth, women, persons with disabilities, and other marginalized groups.. In 2010/ 2011, El-Tokali acted as the Poverty Reduction and Job Creation Team Leader, and the Millennium Development Goals focal point. El-Tokali is also the current UNDP Egypt focal point for youth, South-South Cooperation, persons with disabilities, and private sector development as well as a member of the executive committee of the Global Knowledge Partnership (GKP) and Telecentre.org. It was drawn upon El-Tokali s expertise in several conferences, including the World Summit in Information Society (WSIS) in Geneva and Tunis, the GKP conference in Sri Lanka and Malaysia, the Telecenter Summit in Chile and Spain, easia in Malaysia and Bangladish, eindia, the Social Innovation Summit in San Francisco, Innovation and Creativity for Development Conference in Malaysia, and the UN Global Alliance in ICT4D in Malaysia, where various UNDP projects under his management received international recognition. Sherif El-Tokali holds a master s degree in Business Administration from Maastricht School of Management, Netherlands.
