2 Congruence: The Key to Success and Abundance By Carol Look Congruence means that when you make a decision to go forward, 100% of your mind body and spirit is behind you and the decisions you make. If you want success in financial abundance, or weight loss, or relationships, but a part of you is afraid of it or not congruent, then you will sabotage yourself. There are three common themes that cause us to not be congruent with our desires: Safety Issues: What is the downside of getting what you want? What if they don t like me anymore? What if I get rich and lose it all? What if I don t feel safe being visible? What if I can t trust my friends/enemies? Identity Issues: Who am I without this problem? Who will I be if I m not a smoker? Who will I be if I lose weight? Who will I be if I m no longer a failure? 2

3 Fear of Peoples Reactions: What if other people don t like my success? What if my friends will be jealous? How will my family treat me? You are usually not aware of your safety issues, but if you sabotage yourself, you know that you are not congruent and you need to do some digging for the emotional reasons you aren t comfortable with your new success. Use Tapping for your Yes / Buts Examples of yes/buts YES, I want to be a nonsmoker, BUT I will be feel socially awkward. YES, I want to lose weight, BUT I always gain it back. YES, I want to be in a relationship, BUT I m scared of having my heart broken. YES, I want to make a lot of money, BUT I was always told money is the root of evil. All YES/BUTS are a sign that you aren t congruent with what you want. The BUTS show you EXACTLY what you should be Tapping on. 3

4 Law of Attraction and Congruence Law of Attraction and Yes/Buts Law of attraction means whatever energy you put out to the universe comes back. If you are fearful you will attract more fearful experiences. What you believe, you will experience The law of attraction likes clarity. You need to be very clear and have no yes/buts. Sabotage is the evidence that someone has a yes/but. Working with the layers Our emotions work in layers. If we clear anger, sadness might come up. You use Tapping step by step until all negative emotions subside. Congruency and Decisions You must be congruent on the yes and no. It s about listening to your gut. If your gut is saying no but you want to please someone by saying yes, it won t feel good because you re not being congruent. Being congruent means that even though you are trying to please someone else you still say how you feel. Ask yourself, Do I feel powerful when I make a decision? If you continue saying yes when you feel it s a no, then the fear of saying no is an Tapping target. Even though I m so scared to say no to Sally because she might be angry, I deeply and completely accept myself. It s not healthy to say yes all the time; for you or for others! 4

5 Procrastination Procrastination is a sign of not being congruent Procrastination is a way to rebel. It s a way of saying I m taking back control. When you find yourself procrastinating ask yourself, What is the downside to getting this done? How does procrastination serve you? Your answer will be your target with Tapping. Discovering your Yes/Buts. Say the statement below that applies to you, Discover whether you have any BUTS YES! I want to make more money BUT YES! I want to lose weight BUT YES! I want to improve my relationship BUT YES! I want to stop smoking BUT YES! I want a promotion BUT YES! I want to expand my business BUT YES! I want be in a relationship BUT If I make too much money my friends will treat me differently. I will get too much attention and that makes me nervous I m scared if I m honest he/she will leave me I will feel so socially awkward I m scared of what my coworkers will say If I don t succeed I will be ashamed I m scared to have my heart broken 5
