Preface Inspiration is the simplest form of magic that we experience. Inspiration comes from everywhere. It hides in the corner of every page of your books and in the smile of every person you see. This is book is nothing but my humble attempt to harness that inspiration. I came across this quote and I knew right then, that this would be the perfect way to start things off. Why do you write? he asked. So I can take my love for you and give it to the world, I reply. Because you won t take it from me. - An Excerpt from Lullabies by Lang Leav

Acknowledgement Fair warning to the readers. You are about to read the weirdest, most random and probably the longest acknowledgement page you have ever seen. For he is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust. Thank you for giving me the opportunity and strength to seek my dreams. Putting this book together would have been impossible without your endless love. Many thanks to my amazing best friends. You know who you are. Give yourselves a standing ovation you little weirdos. Special thanks to my little sis for reading the manuscript several times and giving me all the valuable input and also for being my most constant source of encouragement. You are my family. Suraj, Thanks for the beautiful cover image. Keep designing. I couldn t possibly go without thanking the teachers at my school, D.A.V. Especially the English department teachers. The best teachers ever. Honest!
Acknowledgement Thank you, Hindustan University and all the people in it for keeping me inspired. So much gratitude to Dr. A.T.G who saved me from terrible fates, several times. I probably wouldn t even be around to write the book if not for you. Thanks to the editors and all the people at Notion Press. You have been wonderful. Not to forget Joseph Adam Jonas for the songs that kept me awake through the long nights and Thanks in advance to Ellen DeGeneres for inviting me on the show after my fifth book. You re awesome. And finally all my love to you, dear readers. Thank you for taking this book off the shelf. 4 x 5
Married to The Perfect Man can t believe what I am hearing. How could you I say that? I don t spend enough time with you and Riana? Well, maybe lately! But can t you see the amount of work I have to get done? I m doing it for us, not just for myself! Don t ask me where I m going! He grabs the keys and walks out of the room, slamming the door shut. His Lambo s engine comes to life, the rusted chains on the garage door move with much noise, the tires screech, rubbing against the garage floor and he s gone. As the silence sets in, I bury my face into my hands.in that moment, I wasn t sure of anything except that I was glad mom had taken Riana out. She shouldn t have to see her parents fight like this. I was all too familiar with that gut wrenching feeling that you get when your parents fight. All those nasty memories from my childhood ran through my mind as I sat there. The times I watched my mother try and hide her pain just so I wouldn t feel bad. The way my
Married to the perfect man father never seemed to care about how either of us felt. And just like that, I began to realize that this fight was unnecessary. Guilt began to flood my brain as I picked up the phone and dialed his number. His phone rang for a bit and went through to voice mail. After the beep, I said, Come home, please. I m sorry. I put the phone down on the sofa and thought about how stupid I had been. After all, I was married to the perfect man. The clock in our bedroom ticked loudly above the giant picture of him and me. There were just two hours until the 5 th of June. Ten years since we got married and I still remembered everything about us. He had always been a perfect husband right from the first day until now. He said he d be back soon - but will he get here before it strikes twelve? I walked towards our favorite room. A black piano rested in the centre of the dim lit room, the walls lined with pictures of our favorite artists. To the right there were four guitars, placed in a row next to his Drum kit. I picked up a guitar and played a lazy C chord. I thought about all the random things that lead to this day. Everything that lead me to believe that he really was perfect. Let me show you. Please excuse me while I work on time travel
Anupama Nair Oh! You want to know where I m taking you? That s simple. I m taking you twenty years back in time, to the day that it all began. You re going to find a lot of fast forwarded parts, a lot of years and months skipped right through and some parts explained in overtly extensive details. Yeah, you ll probably get a little annoyed with all the missing parts and everything but you started reading it so keep going. Almost there! Done! 4 3 5
Of Storms & other Insignificant Things ick Toc, Tick Toc, Tick Toc. that was the noise Tinside my brain as I sat in that practice hall with three guys I had never met before. My brain seemed almost vacant. Wow! There are no actual thoughts in my head! I said to myself. I was sitting amongst noisy, annoying guys and my brain was blank. I sat there wondering why I agreed to this. My best friend Chris told me that he knew a few cool guys from other colleges around the city who wanted to get together and start a band just to attend the Summer Jam contest that was to be held in the city the next month. I could rarely deny anything that Chris asked me to do. Having agreed to meet the boys and sing with them, I was now sitting in the practice room for our first practice. At least that s what they called it practice. We had been there for nearly an hour just waiting for everyone to arrive. One of the guitarists had been on his way for a while now. The emptiness in my head ended abruptly when the door swung open and a
