1 Depositing a student thesis in the Epsilon Archive for Student Theses : This step-by-step guide presupposes that you have already created a user account in the archive. If you haven t already done so, please go back to the information page and follow the guide Creating a user account in the Epsilon Archive for Student theses! 1. Log in at by clicking on the link Existing User Login : This guide is meant to help you publish your student thesis in the Epsilon Archive for Student Theses. Please note that the file you upload in step 5 must be the final and approved version of your thesis. If you have any further questions, please contact your local Epsilon administrator:

2 2. When you log in, you come to a page called Manage deposits : If this is the first time you log in, there are no documents saved here. If you have already started publishing a thesis, however, this is where it is saved and can be edited, as long as you have not made the final deposition (also see step 14).

3 3. To start a new deposition, click the button Publish new document :

4 4. On the next page you need to fill in what level thesis you are about to publish. If you are not sure, ask your supervisor! When you have made the appropriate choice, click the Next -button to continue.

5 5. On the next page you are requested to upload a PDF-file containing your thesis. It must be the final and approved version of your thesis! Click the Browse -button to find the file you want to upload from your computer. Once you have selected the right file, click on the Upload -button.

6 6. On the next page, please check that the field Format says PDF and the field Visible to says Anyone. The other fields are not normally used for student theses. If you think you need to use any of the other fields, please contact your Epsilonadministrator.

You can also click on the question mark on the right hand side of every field for more help. At any time, you can save your work and continue later, by clicking the Save for later button. 8. At the bottom of the page you need to tick the box for accepting the agreement, which means you give the SLU the right to publish and keep your electronic thesis in the Epsilon archive.

The agreement does not limit any of your rights as author, i.e. you still keep the copyright. The link next to the box opens the agreement for you to read. When you have ticked the box, please click the Next -button.

9 9. On the next page you may choose a maximum of three subjects describing your thesis. Some SLU subjects are not covered in this list if that is the case for your thesis, skip this step or try to choose a subject close to yours. When you are done, click the Next -button.

10. The final page asks you to confirm that the thesis you deposit is your own (or, for administrators, that you have the right to deposit the thesis) and that you have the

Read the text and then click the button Deposit Item Now. Only then will your deposit be sent to the Epsilon editors at the SLU libraries.

11 11. Now your thesis deposit is sent to the editors. You can no longer edit it yourself. The editing librarians will check your deposit and make sure everything is correct. If all is as it should be, the editor will publish your thesis online in Epsilon within a few days. Please note that only then can you search for your thesis in the archive itself. If there are any problems with your deposit, an editor will contact you with advice on how to fix them. In that case, the thesis is returned to your work space in Epsilon and you can edit it again (se step 12).

If you started a deposit but saved it to continue later, or if you receive an from an editor informing you that your thesis has been returned to your work space, it will look like this next time you log in. The deposit can be found on your Manage Deposits page and you can edit it before uploading it again. Use the buttons on the right hand side to edit your document. Hold the cursor over a button to find out what that button does.
