1 7 Steps to Declutter your Home
2 7 Steps to Declutter your Home From Simple Lionheart Life Date: 1. What's Your Why? Why do you want to declutter? What is motivating you to make your home clutter-free? (i.e. less time wasted managing stuff, more time to be with family, creating a more peaceful home, less time spent cleaning and picking up, etc.) What is your ideal vision for your home? Describe your vision for how you want your space to look and feel (i.e. cozy, clean, peaceful, serene, lively, etc.) 2. Your Decluttering Plan How will you work through your house decluttering: room by room, or all like items at once?
3 What's your plan for getting rid of stuff? What will you do with garbage? (i.e. take it to the dump, put it in your weekly garbage collection, rent a garbage bin, etc.) Where will you donate items? How often will you drop off donations (weekly, monthly, etc.)? Put a reminder in your calendar to drop off donations (check when completed). Where will you sell items? (i.e FaceBook groups, ebay, consignment shops, etc.) How long will you wait before donating unsold items?
4 If planning a yard sale, what is the tentative date? Mark the date in your calendar (check when completed). When will you declutter (daily, weekly, etc.)? Schedule times in your calendar with reminders (check when completed). Prioritize areas to declutter: 1. Top 3 most important areas to declutter: 2. 3.
5 Rank the remaining areas in your home from highest to lowest priority to declutter (can be whole rooms, i.e. kitchen, or spaces, i.e. linen closet): (use the back of the page if you need more room) Take before pictures of your spaces to keep track of your progress and keep you motivated. If you want to keep track of how much you've gotten rid of, make a tally sheet or chart to track your progress and keep you motivated. Now let's get to work! 3. Do a quick sweep through the whole house: Grab a box, bag or laundry basket and start filling it! work quickly get rid of anything you see that you don't use or love Celebrate your first step towards a clutter free home!

Clear your surfaces: Use a box or basket to gather everything off your surfaces. throw out or recycle any garbage put away anything you're keeping make sure each thing you keep has a home - declutter as needed to make spaces Do daily sweeps to keep these surfaces clear Spots to focus on: kitchen counters, entry way table, bathroom counters, night stand, end tables and coffee table Celebrate the progress you're making! 5. Declutter somewhere easy: Pick a quick and easy spot and thoroughly declutter it What spot will you work on? Celebrate another win! 6. Tackle your highest priority area: Declutter your #1 priority area from step 2 Breathe a sign of relief as a big area of stress is out of your life!

Assess your space: How does your home make you feel now? Re-read your vision from step 1. Does it match with the current state of your home? if yes - Yay! You did it!
