MY SCRIPT an original screenplay by <Your Name> <Your Name> <Address> <City, State Zip> (555)
5. 4 INT. THE PUNCH BOWL - CONTINUOUS 4 I'm good. How are ya'll doing? Oh, it's just these weddings. They always make me cry. Oh, well, I know. Now isn't this the third wedding you've been groomsman in these past couple of months? Roxie looks over at a young boy and girl playing. I know. All my friends keep throwin' in the towel.
6. Well how about you and, and...what's her name? Becky. Becky McAlister. But no...we 're old news. Everything ended. Yeah. 4:00 The girl gets mad and hits the boy who is startled and runs off rubbing his injury. Roxies remembers. Roxie turns. Is that so? Did you hear that, Roxie? I am so sorry, Darrell. I know Mrs. Murray. Heya, Roxie. Hello, Darrell. How ya doin'? Oh, I'm just so thrilled to be here. So, huh. Musics playing, everybody is dancing. What do you say you and I do a little dance together? prob'ly not. humh But you can screw off and die though. (beat) I could do that, but then if I did that it would take away my opportunity and privilege of going down and watching you and your crapola band play every weekend in Waxahachie.
7. (beat) Oh, my...they're about to start the money dance. I'll just go get in line for my five dollars a' heaven with the groom. Roxie starts to follow. Mom. No, it's alright. Ya'll, You just stay right here. Beverly almost skips off. Darrell moves closer to Roxie Great. I meann, seriously, Roxie, why is it any time you think somebody's watchin' us you get all tense and uppity uppity, but you know, like the moment we are totally alone, you, huh, half rip my clothes off like you did the other weekend at the Sonic? Darrell pulls out his own flask. Roxie sees it and wants some. Improv something like "I remember when you found/stole/bought that" back story I did not rip half your clothes off. Girl, there were three buttons missing off my clothes the next day. Don't buy Wal-Mart shirts then that wouldn't happen. Great, great, great great. Always those snappy one liners. Can you ever talk to anybody straight, Roxie? (Beat) I mean seriously, ehh, For instance, why didn't you call me last Friday night... or Saturday... or, I don't know, the other thirty times I called you last week?
8. Darrell--come on Seriously, beause if you want me to screw off and die, I can do that, but I don't know. I might need a little coachin' Roxie, I mean, What are you supposed to do. you supposed to screw off and die, or maybe you die while-- (trying to be angry) OK Darrell, could you just shut up for like two seconds, alright? 5:28 They both laugh. (CONT'D) (beat) Ok I'm sorry I didn't call you, Ok, its just, I don't know. it's just, OK I don't want to talk about it here. Here? Where? At Church. You know, I mean there are a Bunch o' women uh, dressed like Macy Day floats. (giggles) Well, You could be right. That Mrs. Bingham I mean, get a look at that dress. She might be one of your floats. Have you seen her banunkanuck in that dress? (laughs) God, It looks like her ass is eatin' that dress. Yeah, I think you're right. I think her ass is. Ohh, look at that. I mean turn it sideways and it looks like a sideways Venus flytrap.
9. (laughing) God, I am so bad. Oh gosh The one thing you can do is make me laugh. Hmmm. My one saving grace. Well, great. Look, can we please talk about this some other time? Yeah, maybe like, Tuesday, dollar movie? Hmm hmm, dollar movie, wow, Sonic, dollar movie. You really know how to impress a girl. I thought you'd appreciate my thriftiness. Actually, I would be impressed by a sit down dinner with no tater tots or Velveeta cheese. Hmmm, Cracker Barrel? I guess. He starts to leave, then pulls Roxie into a quick, hard kiss. After a shocked moment, she yields a little. When he pulls back she slaps him. 6:45 (laughs) Cracker Barrel (slap) Oooh yeah. Well, OK I'll consider the date still on and ummh I'll get a new shirt with three buttons. (MORE)
10. (laughs) (CONT'D) (starts to walk away as Roxie digs through her purse) Maybe from Sears this time. See ya Roxie. 7:21
