If you have a new service or product to present or an offer from your booth, you should highlight it on the website by filling in your web listing and uploading press releases. The web listing provides you with the ability to manage and update your profile and establish your presence at the event. 7 newyorkvet.com 07 6 PLAN YOUR OBJECTIVES AND BOOTH PRESENCE Your booth is the window to your brand: it is one of the few places that your target audience will get to see your company s values firsthand and not in print or online. First impressions cannot be undone; it s vital to make the right impression the first time. We sourced advice from other experts in the exhibition business and asked them for their tips to ensure you project the right company image and have the best possible New York Vet. Set measurable objectives Write down exactly what you wish to achieve when exhibiting (eg, 150 qualified sales leads). Design your booth to meet your objectives Good booth design helps deliver your exhibition objectives. The first and only reason for booths is to help meet your objectives. Train, train, train Eighty percent of the success of your booth is down to your staff SO TRAIN THEM. Talk to strangers Ensure your booth is staffed with people confident enough to talk to passing strangers to draw attendees onto your booth. Can I help you? This is not a good opening question the answer is almost always NO. Ask open-ended questions that require more than a one-word answer. Don t Use a phone, read papers/tablets, eat on the booth, sit down, have your back to the aisle or have a messy booth. This projects an image of disengagement and will actively deter people from approaching. Record You MUST record and classify all your leads. Follow Up A staggering amount of exhibitors do not follow up leads, and it s alarmingly frequent how often bowls of business cards are left for trash! Make sure you follow up with all your leads at least six times after the event.
