The best thing about being chosen as a Year Group Captain is still hard to say, but it has given me a wider picture of how this school runs, what people (pupils) want during their school hours. It has been so far, a very interesting journey My favourite subjects are Music, Art and History. I like music because you constantly learn new things; Art because I find it relaxing and History because I like learning about things that happened before me. I love having Mugsy (Mrs Ford). She is always happy and fun to be around and that makes me happy too! I am quite new at Mt Compass but I will give it a go. The thing I love most about Mt compass is that it is very close to my home, I can walk to school in the morning and it is very quiet and peaceful, it also gives me time to prepare for a day of school. Would you recommend being a Year Group Captain, why? This is the hardest question, I really don t think this is something for everyone, for me it is a very interesting experience but for say someone that has been at Mt Compass for a very long time it may not be, but if you are someone that loves to help out I would absolutely recommend being a Year Group Captain.

I really enjoy subjects that I am studying this year; Maths, Biology, Chemistry and English. There are lots of great teachers at this school but ones I have found Bu Jemma, Ms Wilkinson and Mr Gramola very helpful and supportive. I love the friendly atmosphere and small school community that comes with being an area school. All of the teachers are friendly, approachable and willing to help. Would you recommend being a Year Group Captain, why? Absolutely, it is a great opportunity to step out of your comfort zone and have a go at many different things. It also gives you a chance to have an impact on the school and voice others and your opinion on what could be improved on in the school community. What would I like to see change in the school? The amount of rubbish that is around the school is an issue that I believe needs to be changed as it does not look nice.

20 Year 12 My name is: Macey For what year are you the Captain? School Captain Captain? Mr Mount, Ms Bouveng and Mrs Lindavies Year Group Captain? I accepted because I want to make an impression within out school. I love to lead and help others. What was the best thing about being chosen as Student Leader? The amount of pride and trust that comes with the role. It made me feel very special during a touch time in my life and school. My favourites are History, Food and Hospitality, and Art. Ms Bouveng and Mrs Fonfe. They both push and inspire me to become a better person. I look up to them as adults and inspire me to be like them. I love many things about our school. Most of all I love the student-teacher relationships and the tight community we have. It makes it really easy to be yourself. Would you recommend being a Year Group Captain, why? Yes. It is such an honour. Being trusted with such a great responsibility. It s a big task but it s well worth it with the relationships you develop and the person you will become.
