Give them the opportunity to make the decision as to whether they want to or not. Don t limit yourself to close acquaintances. You can be talking to someone at the grocery store and end up with a terrific Hostess or new recruit! Relatives & Friends: Neighbors & Acquaintances: Co-Workers(past & present): School Friends: Contacts through children: (playmates mother, PTA, car pools, piano teacher) Employees of places you frequent: (salon, local shops, dentists, Doctors, etc.) Spouses co-workers & their spouses: Church & Social Contacts: (bible studies, fraternal clubs, bowling leagues) Anyone who has ever held any kind of party: Anyone for whom you have ever done a favor:

2 YOU CAN BE A SPONSORING POWERHOUSE ALWAYS DO HOME SHOWS Home shows are your opportunity to find recruits. You are with a group of customers already demonstrating their love of Longaberger just by being there. They are often, strategizing their purchases and contemplating their date for a book show which is usually a great time to share your own story. Always bring up the opportunity during your show at least twice. Think of the potential and take advantage! REMEMBER TO SHARE WITH EVERYONE WHAT YOU DO - ALWAYS Always be ready to bring up in conversation what you do and why no matter where you are. It is very easy to slide in a general conversation your experience the night before at a show. You could be at a ballgame, the dentist, the grocery store anywhere you run into friends and acquaintances, share your experiences with everyone! Your own passion can be infectious to others. WATCH, LISTEN AND LEARN You never know when the opportunity is right there in front of you. It could be during a show, perhaps while closing a show with a hostess, delivering products or having coffee while visiting your neighbor. Always watch and listen and you will quickly learn the opportunities being presented. SET SPONSORING GOALS It is a fact, when we set goals for ourselves, we are better positioned to succeed. Goals should always be attainable and realistic. Decide what your own personal goal should be and be sure you have realistic actions in place to help you meet your goals. CHALLENGE YOURSELF! BE ENGAGED IN YOUR BUSINESS Being engaged in your business is key! Educate yourself on Longaberger products and programs so you are ready to share this information with your potential recruits. Attend branch meetings for ideas, motivation and support. Be ready to share the Success Start program, monthly product incentives and the leadership/management opportunities with your potential recruits. These benefits provide great leverage during your recruiting conversation. ALWAYS ASK NEVER PRE-JUDGE Always be willing to ask the question and never make assumptions. Pre-judging is a common mistake and remember, if you don t ask them, someone else will. Look for hints such as I want this basket but just can t afford it or listen for someone sharing their dislike of their current job and looking for a change. How about a stay at home mom who is in dire need for adult interaction and a break from the home? How about that customer who has so many products on their wishlist and wants it all yesterday? Don t forget your best hostesses who continue to have shows with you over and over. These are just a few examples of hints to look for to achieve sponsoring success.

3 ALWAYS CARRY SPONSORING MATERIALS WITH YOU Carry sponsoring packets wherever you go!! You never know when the opportunity will arise and you always want to be prepared. Many of us love instant gratification so having materials with you, including a contract, could increase your recruiting success rate. ASK FOR REFERRALS Always be willing to ask for referrals. Your hostesses and guests could know just the right person ready to be a consultant but if you don t ask, and they are not in attendance, you miss out on an opportunity. Remember.. - don t take rejection personally - talk to every guest at every show - practice your hostess coaching skills - more connections means more recruits - networking is key - follow-up!

5 NOvember 100 NO s! Here is your Challenge for NOvember.. Get comfortable talking about your business and sharing information about the Longaberger Opportunity. It takes practice to feel comfortable sharing. Here are some ideas: If you are talking to someone you know: I am working to build my business and am looking for people to add to my own team. When I thought about who I would like to work with, I thought of you. Can I give you some information about Longaberger? Or, if it is a stranger: The Longaberger Company is looking for new representatives in this area. With your (bright smile, bubbly personality, attention to detail), you would be a good fit for our Company. Can I give you some information? The information you share will depend on the person you are talking to: personal website, maintained by the Company, only $19 to start your own Business, can do business in person, online, and In our Longaberger at Home Showrooms, no inventory or delivery.. Your job is not to convince anyone to join you in this business. It is to offer the opportunity. Many families could really use extra income right now.. and you can help. You need to just keep asking until you find the people that do want what you have to offer and say YES! So, what s the challenge? Keep asking until you have gotten 100 NO s! Every time you ask and you get a NO, put an X in the chart below. When you have achieved 100 no s, contact your leader and tell her about your experience doing this

6 SEVEN EASY STEPS TO HOSTING A $1000 LONGABERGER SHOW! #1. Make a list of everyone you know! Consider this an opportunity to see those you never get to see family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, etc. #2. Send out at least 50 invitations! Start verbally spreading the word about your party. Send out invites at least 10 days prior. Usually only ¼ will be able to attend. Carry invites/materials with you at all times! #3. Ask guests to bring a friend! Indicate this on your invite. This will help offset those that can t attend! #4. Get outside orders before the show! Remember, online orders now count towards your party, so work with me to make sure they get the LINK to your show.. I want you to get the credit! Also, promote the Wednesday/all specials as these, too, counts towards your party! #5. Remind guests of your show! So many times, guests will forget about your party! Be sure to a reminder a few days before and then call as many as you can the night before! #6. Ask for two or more HOME show bookings! Earn free products for bookings. Try to have two bookings before the party and I too will help promote this for you at your party. #7. Make your EASY $1,000 show happen! Thank you for hosting a show. 8 FUNDRAISING: I try to do at least one fundraiser each month. I find it helps me stay connected with people, get our product out in front of people, and also helps ME meet new people, too! I find I do best by offering to do a show for an organization and make that a fundraiser (combining the hostess benefits with some of my commission). However, mostly I offer ONE product fundraiser. They are quick, easy to understand and I find organizations like the simplicity of them. I have done them with pie plates, travel mugs, cutting boards, and candles. in the past. This fall I am recommending the Fill-it-Hurricane as a GREAT one item fundraiser. The members of the organization have a one page sell sheet and a two week period to take orders! Here s how it works. I meet with the person(s) doing the fundraiser, and I take one of the Small Fill-it- Hurricanes with me. I show them how beautiful it is and how easy it is to change the look for different times of year. I also tell them that they will earn $7 for every one they sell, and that to do this fundraiser there is a minimum 12 item order needed. But, if they sell 50 they will get $10 each = $500! They can relate to that. (*I get the extra money from the hostess dollars, as 50 will make a $1200 show! See below ) I find out how many people they have in their organization that will be selling, and we pick the date to begin and end (usually a 2 week time span). I make up the one page ordering form and get it to them! I do bring one sample with me for the initial meeting so they can see how great it is! Once they have their orders, I submit it as a show. I still have the Hostess half price items left and I can either give them a BONUS or use them to get more samples for my business! You can do this same thing with ANY Longaberger item! Details: Note: Pricing on the attached Small Fill It Hurricane example I state that there is a 12 item minimum order for the fundraiser. That will create a $360 show. Shipping on those 12 items would be $42. So I came up with $36 for the cost (figuring in $3.50 each for shipping and 7% tax) you could adjust the price for your needs. * To add more CASH to the fund raiser, I take items that people bought, and get them with the FREE hostess dollars and then add that money to what the organization gets. Specifically in this case: 50 Small Fill-It Hurricanes would come up to $1500 for a show. I would take 8 of the ones ordered and not order them under guest orders (this would subtract $240 from the show total, making it now a $1,260 show), but instead get those 8 FREE with hostess dollars. With a $1,200 show we get $220 in Hostess Dollars --- So, adding my commission for the $1,260 show ($315), PLUS the $220 from hostess FREE dollars, I have $535 to give to the organization

9 SPRING 2015 RIGHT/LEFT GAME Adapted from Judy Wise T was the month of May, and we knew RIGHT away, We could order the brand new Longaberger item for basket Lovers, and it s on sale during May! We scanned the May flyer and the new Spring Wishlist, too, Looking for the RIGHT gift, not just for one, but for many we knew. The RIGHT baskets, the RIGHT pottery, the RIGHT wrought iron and more, LEFT us wondering what else Longaberger had in store. It seemed that the company had made all the RIGHT choices; Adding the new they had heard our voices. The new would look RIGHT in our homes, LEFT in the center of our table with candies, flowers and scones. The Returning LEFT us breathless with all that was new, A Beautifully designed piece, with new fabrics and matching, too! The Party Pleaser items fill us with delight; What could be better than a charming night, RIGHT? For organization, we have just the RIGHT stuff, Our is more than enough! Now RIGHT in the middle of all that is new, We still LEFT lots of your old favorites, too! What can be LEFT you ask, as you sit there in shock, How about our new and that s not a crock! As you can see, warm and rich brown stain is just RIGHT for your home, It blends with the others, as my display has shown! What could be LEFT for Longaberger to address? We re all overwhelmed as the Savings dollar signs grow, We know RIGHT away that we must have our own show! So many new choices LEFT such a horrible plight! 11 Let s have some June FUN! Open House Thursday, June 11 th! That is 6/11 So, 611 becomes our THEME! Note: Often times my most successful open houses were those that I put together on short notice everyone the date and time ahead of time. CALL them the day before to personally invite them to the open house! It is that easy. Here s more ideas For your customers: the following information can go on your invitation that you to them Open House on Thursday, June 11 th (6/11) Open House starts at 6:11! It lasts 61 minutes! See a demonstration of 6 products on sale this month! 1 lucky person will win a door prize (and maybe another 1)! Everyone will leave with a special gift! Receive 1 door prize ticket for attending! Receive 1 door prize ticket for wearing red, white, and blue! (or a color that goes with June s featured products) Receive 1 door prize ticket for bringing a guest that I have not invited! Receive 6 door prize tickets for booking a 611 SHOW during June! What is a 611 show you ask? You invite 6 people (no more), and each of them can bring 1 friend, and together we have 1 hour of Longaberger FUN!! Get it! 611! Special gift for each 611 show held before the end of June! 611 turns in to 321! Want a great little dessert, with two ingredients (one being water) that you can make in 1 minute? Come to my open house to try this! Book your 611 show and I will bring the 321 dessert and share the secret ingredients of the Magic Cake Mix!! Notes for the consultant: 1. Your demonstration at your open house, OR at any show you book this month: Pick what is on sales this month. Look at the June flyer and find 6 things that you have that you can talk about. It is OK if you do not have any of the featured items --- you can make a Red, White, and Blue display (think paprika, cornflower, ivory) and put the picture of the featured products in the middle!! Assuming the June feature will be red, white, and blue themed.. 2. Door prize (or two depending on how many come). Take something you already have it is more about the fun of winning, rather than what they win. I have done travel cups, napkins, something from LAH. But I do try to package it pretty, like wrapping it, or putting it in a cello bag with ribbon!

12 3. 3,2,1 CAKE! This is a SECRET! Buy two boxes of cake mixes, ONE being Angel Food Cake, the other any flavor you want. Chocolate is always a favorite. Mix the two boxes of cake mix together! That s it --- this becomes your MAGIC cake mix! Don t give this secret away, as it just may be your ticket to getting June bookings. You can tell the guests at your open house that when they hold their JUNE 611 show, you will give them the MAGIC Cake Mix recipe!!! You can mix the two boxes together ahead of time, and then put a scoop in individual baggies, and put the directions on the bag,(labels all done and ed to you if you ask for them)! and each person at your open house can take some 3,2,1 Cake mix home with them! This becomes your party favor, so to speak, so everyone leaves with a special gift! You can either just have the zip lock bags there with the recipe on them, or if you have time you can take that and also put it in a cello bag (available at Walmart in the party section for $1.00) and put a bow on them! Either would look great stacked in a bread basket! Note: I don t think the party bags you buy at Walmart and other places are food safe, so I would use the zip lock bag for the cake mix, and then put that in the cello bag. At the Open House (or 611 show), put the magic cake mix in a larger bowl, and water in another bowl (does not need to be as large), then you can make ONE of the 321 cakes to show in a Longaberger mug. Microwave for one minute. Run a knife around the edge of the cake and then turn it out onto a dish, and you have a cute little round cake. This is just to show them what they are making. They eat theirs right out of the mug. Now, the guest will be making their own! I suggest they make theirs in a Longaberger Mug. Have a tablespoon in front of the magic cake mix with a card that says 3, have another Tablespoon in front of the bowl of water with a card that says 2. Then have some teaspoons that they can stir with (have them save their spoon to eat their cake) --- and they can line up at the microwave for their 1 minute cook time. I think using Longaberger MUGS is what will work best for an Open House or Show, as they can eat it right out of the mug --- could even add ice cream on top in the mugs too!! Plus, the handle of our mugs does not get hot in the microwave, so that solves that problem! So the 3,2,1 cake becomes an activity that your guests will participate in at the Open House or at the Show this month! What quick and easy FUN!

13 4. Special gift for everyone that books a 611 show before the end of June! That is your call --- this is really your booking gift! What you need to prepare ahead of time: 1. Get a box of Angel Food Cake mix, and a box of regular flavor (chocolate is always a good choice). If you think you will get a pretty good turnout at your Open House you may want to get 2 boxes of each and mix up more. 2. Sandwich bags --- enough to put a scoop of the cake mix in for each guest to take home. 3. Labels with the directions on them put the label on each sandwich bag. 4. Hostess Packets --- at least SIX for your June 611 shows (booked from your Open House) 5. Door prize 6. Your display materials #BEE2014
