1 Your Irresistible Free Offer Claim Your Expert Status "The finest gift you can give anyone is encouragement. If everyone received the encouragement they need to grow, the genius in most everyone would blossom and the world would produce abundance beyond their wildest dreams." -- Sidney Madwed Your Irresistible free offer (IFO) is a key aspect of your website that is meant to draw visitors to your website in to learn more about you and what you have to offer. By having an IFO where a visitor must put name and into an op-tin box on your website, you begin the important task of building your list. Not only does the person receive your free gift, but your free newsletter and/or blog as well, creating more opportunity for people to develop the KLT factor with you (Know-like-trust). You want to make this free gift as attractive as you possibly can, so that you truly create an offer that is irresistible. You can have a checklist, an e-book, a report, an audio CD that you have people download, or that you send. Naturally, if you send an actual hard copy of a CD, it is perceived as having greater value, but also costs you money. This is a personal choice, and in the beginning, a downloaded report, e-book, audio or checklist is perfectly acceptable. The key is to write a report that addresses the real desires, dreams,
2 and challenges of your ideal client. Why? Because when you listen to what your clients WANT, and write to THAT, they ll be more likely to opt-in to your list. And you can give them the content, services, programs and products they NEED to solve their thorniest problems. Note that there is a distinction here between what your ideal clients and tribe members actually WANT, and what you as an expert in your field intuitively understand that they NEED. Here s an example of how this distinction works in love and relationship coaching. Let s say you have an ideal client in her 40 s who is seeking Mr. Right, and you know that she is still feeling bitter and is not entirely over her divorce. What she NEEDS is some emotional release and healing work to clear the space for someone to come into her life, while what she WANTS is simply to find her soulmate. As a smart business owner who understands this distinction, this means you ll have better opt-in rates when you write to what people WANT, in order to attract them into your programs, so that you can offer them what they NEED. Let s look at some of the most important elements to have in your IFO: A. Your IFO must solve or begin to solve a major problem for your ideal clients. You must offer them some relief from the pain that they are experiencing. One of the best ways to know this is to interview several of your ideal clients, asking them what they most struggle with and what they would most like help with. 1. Identify and describe the problem that you solve.
3 2. Explain why the problem hasn t been solved. 3. Share your solution to the problem (the 4 steps, 5 secrets, 7 keys, etc.) 4. Have a call to action that asks them to do something after they have read the report or listened to the audio. You can have a link to a complimentary session, or a bonus of some sort.)
4 B. You must craft a juicy title, which you come up with before you write the report. Keys Ways Secrets Strategies Mistakes Step-by-step Insider s guide + Subject + Mouthwatering benefit 5 Secrets to Over-the-top Sales Every Time 4 Keys to Spicing Up Your Marriage 3 Mistakes New Business Owners Need to Avoid Now give it a try: C. Sit down and write what you already know, and let it just flow out of you from the place of the expert you are. Do 2 drafts, and then a 3 rd and be done with it. Don t belabor this part of your business. What is important is the you sit down, think about what you know, and put your knowledge on paper (or audio), so that you get the message out that you have something to offer.
5 It is wise to have a buddy review your report before you sit down and do the final one. D. Create a seductive opt-in prompt that entices people to give you re their address and name for what your report and a subscription to your newsletter. It should be exciting or pique some curiosity. Using clip art and having a good photo of yourself adds to the appeal of the report, and many people have a graphic done for their free gift. The key is to create an offer that cannot be refused!!
