2 Introduction Hello, my name's Gordon Bryan, and thanks for your purchase of the Tireless Traffic Technique. Regular readers of mine will know that I don't like waffle in paid ebooks, and the idea of this guide is to tell you quickly and easily about my favourite traffic generation technique, to show you it in action, and to tell you how you can profit from it. I call it my tireless traffic technique, because you do the work once, for free, and then you can use that one off effort over and over to continually bring you targeted traffic. I imagine that's why you bought it in the first place, so let's get on with it. Traffic is the lifeblood of any internet based business. It doesn't matter who you are, what you're selling, or how great your website is. If you have no traffic coming to your site, you have no sales. End of story. If you know you can generate free targeted ongoing traffic, then you have a great chance of making sales. So, the big, elusive question is - how to generate traffic? Page 2 of 14

3 TRAFFIC GENERATION There are lots of methods. Some are free. Some cost money. Some work. Some are total scams. You can spend a lot of money on books about generating traffic, and end up with nothing but a thinner bank balance, and information overload. In fact, the single method I'm concentrating on here can be bought in an ebook for $49. The $7 you spent to get this guide is the only money you'll have to spend. There are no catches, I won't be telling you that you need to buy any extra products. Out of all the ways of generating traffic, I guess the ultimate aim is high rankings in the search engines, and of course Google in particular. The number of searches Google generates is mind boggling, and to be able to get your website on the first page of results is a lofty aim, for which many people will happily charge you many dollars. You may or may not know of some of the methods - You can use pay per click via adwords, which will cost you. You can try blogging and pinging, which will take you a lot of effort. You can try to trick Google into ranking your site highly. This is also hard work, has no guarantee of results, and can get you banned by Google. The method I use is ethical, and it's genuine, and it's why Google likes it. Google has a fundamental aim to provide its' users with a genuine and helpful search experience. In other words, they do not want their searchers to be hit by page to page adverts. They want their searchers to be hit by useful relevant content. Bearing that in mind, they constantly change the goalposts when it comes to how they rank the results. Page 3 of 14

4 They don't like to tell people how they do it, to stop the blatant sales pitches from clogging the results. Of course in time the marketers work out how to achieve a high ranking. When this starts to look like a problem for Google, they make another change to try and keep the results genuine. With this background, you can see how difficult it is to get your own website indexed on the first page. So my method basically says don't bother trying. You are competing against the masses, and you don't actually know for sure what to do and what not to do, so instead of flailing around, how about benefitting from the work that other people have already done! The method I use centres around an old favourite, which is using articles, but there is a specific way I do it, as you'll see. Page 4 of 14

5 BASIC ARTICLE THEORY The general theory behind the use of articles is as follows - You write an article about a particular subject, about words. At the end of the article you put a resource box, which is basically 2 sentences about yourself and a link to a website. You then submit this article to the many, and ever increasing number of article directories online. Publishers of newsletters and websites who are looking for content to use, go to the directories, and see your article. They use it on their site, including the resource box. Their viewers then read the content, and a certain number of them will click on your link. The publisher wins because they have relevant content that they didn't have to write themselves. The reader wins because they have new content to read. You win because you get all that free traffic! That, in a nutshell, is the article method for generating traffic. It works. I know it works, because I have used it for the last 4 years to get people to my sites, most notably to my newsletter subscription site at It's a free method, and what's more, it can generate traffic over and over, because you never know who will publish your article, or who will read it, but once the work is done, you only have to do it once. That's why I like to call it the tireless traffic method. However, if you slightly tweak the process, you can get much better results. Page 5 of 14

6 THE EXTRA TWEAK Remember how I said that Google likes to change the goalposts with their ranking system, and that it's better to use someone else's efforts rather than try to get your own site ranked? This is the basis of that extra tweak. One of the changes that Google allegedly made, is the duplicate content rule. I say allegedly, because I see lots of debate about how rigidly they apply it, but it fits with their user experience wish, that they don't view sites well when it comes to ranking, if they have the same content. That's logical, because the same content on 2 websites does not offer a user 2 choices, it just offers them the same choice twice! So although there are loads of article directories to choose from, I could probably tell you about 200 right off the bat, you need to be careful how you use them. If you submit the same article to 200 directories, you'll get traffic for sure, from users and viewers. It's free and targeted, which is great, nothing wrong with that. However, Google may look unfavourably if it appears on duplicate pages, so you shouldn't use that same article for search engine purposes. Here's what I do. I write one article for mass submission to as many directories as possible. This article does not have to be keyword optimised. This gives you more scope for attractive titles and structure of the article. I then write another article for submission to just one article directory. This article is keyword optimised. I always like to use keyword phrases of 3 words or more. Firstly because you know what someone is looking for when they type that into a search engine, and secondly because there will be less competition on the Google results pages. Let's look at an example. If you take the phrase 'golf putting tip', what do you think someone wants to find if they type that into Google? Yes, you guessed it, they are looking Page for 6 golf of 14putting tips.

7 Go ahead and type it into Google. On the results page you'll at the top right hand side the number of pages returned. At the end of January 2007 it's around the 2 million mark. The Tireless Traffic Technique c.gordon Bryan 2007 That's the maximum number I go for. If there are more than 2 million results, that's too competitive a phrase. On the 24th Jan 2007 I wrote and submitted an article about a golf putting tip, and I did another one on Jan 27th As I write this on Feb 4th, the 5th result on Google is one of those articles, and the 6th result is the other one! The results change all the time remember, which is why I don't try and rank my own pages. I've put a screen shot of the results page online here: So, in around a week, I have the number 5 and 6 results out of nearly 2 million pages! Out of all the people typing that phrase into Google, how many of them will click on my articles? A good deal of them! It's free, it's targeted, and it's from one-off work! At the bottom of the article is a resource box linking to a golf course I'm an affiliate for. If you click on the article links, you'll see they are both on ezinearticles.com This is the single directory I use for search engine results. Google seems to love that site, and ranks any articles in its' database very well, and very quickly - hence my number 5 & 6 results in about a week! You'll also note that the articles are keyword optimised. That means that the phrase I'm working on, golf putting tip, is in the title, and the first paragraph, and the last paragraph. That's my tireless traffic technique! If you feel that you can't write articles, you're wrong! If you can speak 5 sentences, you can write an article, believe me. The first time you do it, you'll find it hard, yes, but with practice, you'll be able to whack them out. I can create a new original article in 30 minutes. Here's a brief outline of how to do it. 8 WRITING THE ARTICLE The Tireless Traffic Technique c.gordon Bryan 2007 An article used for traffic generation only needs to be 300 words long. It can be 600 words long, I tend to think that anything longer than that is too long, and should be split up into 2 separate articles! 300 words is not long, it really isn't, and when I've shown you how to put an article together, you'll see what I mean. Here are the 3 best formats for articles I use. 1. A number of tips. This may be '3 Tips to shrink your waistline Fast', '4 Sure Fire Ways To Flood Your Bank Account', and so on. You'll only need 3 or 4 tips. I like to use 3, as it's a powerful psychological number. 2 doesn't give the impression of offering enough options, and 4 can start to sound like a shopping list, but 3 has always been a handy number. 2. Asking and Answering a question. This may be something like 'How Can You Shrink Your Waistline In A Fortnight?' or 'Can You Boost Your Bank Account in 7 Days?' Anyone reading those titles will want to know the answers to the questions. 3. A Review. You can review any product in the form of an article. The headline would be along the lines of 'Waistline Reduction Guide - Why I Rave To My Next Door Neighbour About It!' or 'This Book Claimed To Rocket My Earnings - See How I Got On.' Then in the article you give an honest review of how the product worked for you, and why you recommend it. Ok, so that covers the formats of article I use. You won't need to stray from those types, they'll see you through a huge quantity of articles. Now I want to cover how to research your articles. This bit is great for lazy people like me! One way is to type your keyword phrase into Google, and delve into the results to fish out the information you need. An easier way is to use the work that other people have already done for you! If you go to any article directory, they'll have a search facility on their site. Type your keyword phrase into the box, hit search, and hey presto, lots of articles jam packed with nice neat snippets of info about your subject! Page 8 of 14

9 Here comes the copyright warning - do not, at any time, copy another author's work. Don't copy in full, don't copy in part. Firstly, it's illegal. Secondly I'm an author, you will be too, and you don't want your work stolen, so don't do it to others. I cover this kind of integrity in my 'Transform Your Life in 21 Days!' book, and it's dear to my heart, it's a fundamental of the way I live my life. I'm proud of it, so I'll say again, never ever steal another person's work. Phew, that's got that out of the way! What you can do though, is use the information they provide. The whole point of them writing articles is to provide information, so you will be using it. Read the top 5 articles about your subject, or better still, the 5 with the best titles that catch your eye. Jot down the major points from all the articles. Once you've done this, rewrite those points in your own words. That, believe it or not, is your 300 word article. Use lots of short sentences. Use lots of short paragraphs. Like I've just done! I write everything in that style, my books including this one, my newsletter, my articles. It makes it easier to read for viewers, which is what you want. A long paragraph full of long sentences is very offputting on the eye, it appears dense and gives the impression of being a heavy read - that's not what we want, so keep everything in short bites. Grammar can be bent. Get your spelling right, absolutely, but you can afford to bend the rules when it comes to grammar. You can start sentences with 'And'. I like to write in a conversational style, as you will have noticed. Don't try and write an essay, it's not homework, no-one will be marking it, so be yourself with the style. Page 9 of 14

10 One of, if not *the* most important thing about your article is the title. You may have the snappiest article ever written about your subject, but if your title is as dry as a bucket of sand in the desert, no-one will read it. You may have an article which is only just good enough quality wise, but give it a great title and your viewer stats will be spinning. I've never had trouble coming up with titles, so I'll try and explain the techniques I use. If you back pedal a bit to where I wrote about the formats for your article, you'll see examples of headlines for each of them. I came up with those as I was typing, off the cuff, and with practice you'll do the same with ease. Let's look at them again, using the example of the weight loss guide. So, I'm promoting a weight loss guide which is basically a calorie counting book. I could title my article 'Weight Loss Guide Using Calories,' Hmm... Does that make you want to click and read? How about the examples I came up with - '3 Tips To Shrink Your Waistline Fast', 'How Can You Shrink Your Waistline In A Fortnight?' 'Waistline Reduction Guide - Why I Rave To My Next Door Neighbour About It!' Can you see the difference? My titles point out the benefit - a quick reduction of waistline that you'll want to rave about. Those titles will get far more clicks than the dry 'Weight Loss Guide Using Calories.' Another trick I like to use is alliteration. This is a term which means a series a words starting with the same sound. Examples I've used in the past are - 'Rampant Responsibility Reticence!' 'Fantastic Formula Following!' 'Happy Haemorrhoid Hour!' Page 10 of 14

11 It raises curiosity in a viewer's mind, they want to know what you are talking about. For the weight loss guide, how about 'WeightLoss Wonder Worker!' or, 'Watch Your Waistline Wither!' Ok, that one might need a bit of work, but you get the idea! So, you've picked your article format, the tip, the question, or the review. You've researched the subject by reading other peopls' articles. You haven't, nor ever will, stolen their work, but have rewritten the major points in your own words, and you've come up with a snappy title. The only thing left is your resource box. This is where it gets exciting. Your resource box goes at the bottom of the article. You write a few sentences about yourself, and give a link to a website. That link will send traffic to the site you choose, either your own site or an affiliate link. That's where your traffic comes from, and remember, if anyone clicks on your link at that point, they have seen your article, read it, and seen enough to want to know more, so they are targetted traffic, and it doesn't cost you a penny! A big 'buzz' at the moment is PLR articles. With PLR, or private lable rights articles, you can use the articles you buy, and put your name as the author. That sounds great if you don't fancy doing it yourself, but I don't recommend it personally. Remember, if you bought it, so did many others, and the old duplicate content issue pops up. You can buy software which supposedly gets round this problem by recreating the articles as new ones. The trouble is that what most of them do is just change the odd word or the odd sentence, and it's something Google has got wise to, so it loses the effect. Writing yourself is the way, and to be honest it really can be done by anyone if you use the methods I outlined above. Page 11 of 14

12 I did say early on in this guide that I wouldn't be selling you anything else, and I stick to that, but one option you may choose is to pay someone to write your articles. This way you will certainly have an original article to call your own. You have to be careful though that whoever you go to isn't just using some of the software I mentioned! You can expect to pay up to $10 for an article, and I can write a keyword phrase article for you on any subject, for $10, so bear me in mind if you choose that route! Page 12 of 14

13 HOW TO PROFIT FROM THE TIRELESS TRAFFIC TECHNIQUE So, now you've established that you can get good rankings with Google by submitting optimised articles to ezinearticles, how can you profit from this? Well firstly, you can use the resource box to send people to a sales page, either for your own product, or like I do in my golf example, to a product I'm an affiliate for. There is no guarantee how long your article will stay on Google page 1, but it won't be for ever. Once it goes off page 1, write another one! Once you have done a few, you can simply compile them together, and you have your own tips guide about the subject that you can sell! Here's another great way to profit from the tireless traffic technique - selling this guide and keeping the whole $7 for yourself! You will need a paypal account. You simply insert your paypal into this link: You replace YOURPAYPAL@ ADDRESS with your paypal address. Then when anyone visits that page and buys, the full $7 goes straight into your paypal account! It's free, it's targeted, and you can get continuing results from the one off work of writing the article.
